Multipath routing to rapidly find the alternate path between the sink and source in advance. Initially the primary path is used for data transmission. In order to overcome any failures occurring in the primary path, we construct and maintain a small number of alternate paths among which the best path is chosen which ensures efficient transmission of messages. In sensor networks, where energy efficiency is of paramount importance, such flooding can adversely impact the lifetime of network.
