 Special Recruitment Drive for filling up the backlog vacancies reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) & Other Backward
 Caste (OBC) in the cadre of Telecom Technical Assistant (TTA) for Bhubaneswar SSA of Orissa Telecom Circle
 through Direct Recruitment.
 1. Vacancy :- Outside

 2. Applications are invited from the bonafide Indian citizen for the post of Telecom Technical Assistant for
 Bhubaneswar SSA of Orissa Telecom Circle.

 3. Scale of Pay – Rs 13600/- to Rs.25420/- with usual allowances as admissible.

 5.Age Limit :-
 a) The applicant should be between 18 to 27 years of age as on the last date of the receipt of the application
 .
 b) However, this age is relaxable for following categories of applicants
 i) For Scheduled Tribes up to 5 years
 ii) For OBC candidates up to 3 years
 iii) For PH candidates up to 10 years(15 years for ST and 13 years for OBC)
 iv) For departmental candidates
 a.Up to 45 years in respect of ST candidates in accordance with the instructions or orders issued
 by the Central Govt.
 b.Up to 43 years in respect of OBC candidates
 v) For Residents of J&K – relaxation shall be in accordance with DoP&T O.M No- 15012/7/1991-
 Estt. (D) dtd 06-12-2005 pertaining to ‘Residents of State of Jammu and Kashmir ( relaxation of
 Upper Age Limit for Recruitment to Central Civil Services and Posts ) Rules 1997’
c) The crucial date for calculating the age limit shall be the closing date of receipt of applications.
1. Ex-servicemen are eligible for relaxation in age limit as prescribed by the Central Govt.

7. Educational Qualification :-
The applicant must possess , as on the last date of receiving applications , the educational qualifications in any of
 the following disciplines from a recognised Institute / University.
a) Three years Engineering Diploma in
i) Telecommunications Engineering
 ii) Electronics Engineering
 iii) Electrical Engineering
 iv) Radio Engineering
 v) Computer Engineering
 vi) Instruments Technology
 vii) Information Technology
b) M.Sc(Electronics) from a recognised institution / University
Note : a) Only such qualification and streams as prescribed in the Recruitment Rules of TTA 2001
 may be allowed . There is no equivalence provided.
 b) Candidates possessing higher qualification in the eligible stream are also
 permitted to appear in the examination..
 c) Candidates possessing Three year Diploma certificates are eligible to appear in the
 Exam irrespective of percentage of marks obtained by them.
 d) In case a candidate is possessing requisite educational qualification, irrespective of having
 entered the course in the 2nd year through lateral entry level after 10+2 , he/she will be eligible to
 appear in the exam.

8. . Examination Fee and application form :-
a) An examination fee of Rs.500/- is payable in the form of Bank Draft along with the application drawn in
 favour of the Accounts Officer (A & P), BSNL ,O/o the CGMT , Orissa , Bhubaneswar-1 payable at
Bhubaneswar. Fees once paid shall NOT be refunded under any circumstances nor can it be held in reserve for
 any other examination or selection.
b) No fee for the applicants of ST category
c) Exemption from payment of examination fees is also available to the applicants of PH category . The
 exemption will, however be available to only those handicapped persons who would be eligible for
 appointment to the post on the basis of the standards of medical fitness prescribed for the post and who enclose
 with the application form , necessary certificate from a Government Hospital/ Medical Board in support of her/his
 claim for being handicapped.
Only the persons with Disability having the following disability are permitted
1) Locomotive Impairment :- OL(One leg affected) or BL(Both legs affected but not arms)
 2) Hearing Impairment :- Partially deaf
d) The specimen of the application form is included in this advertisement . Neatly typed (only on one side of
 paper) copy in A4 size (30cm x 20cm) may be used for making application. The completed application form
 should be sent by Registered post to the Dy .General Manager (HR&A), BSNL, O/o the CGMT, Orissa
Circle,Bhubaneswar-1. The envelop containing the application form should be superscribed with “
APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF TELECOM TECHNICAL ASSISTANT EXAMINATION - 2010 in
BHUBANESWAR SSA AGAINST BACKLOG VACANCIES” in bold letters on the top of the envelop.
 Application can also be delivered in person by dropping the same in the box placed in the Room No-113 (1st
 Floor) of Dy General Manager (HR&A) , O/o the CGMT ,BSNL ,Orissa Circle,Bhubaneswar-1
 Original advertisement or photocopy of the format in the advertisement must not be used for applying
 and in case a candidate submits such an application the same will not be entertained. The given application
 format must be separately typed.

9. Method of Selection :-
 Through a competitive examination which will be conducted on the 28th of November,2010. Appointment and
 posting order will be issued to the successful candidate after completion of prescribed course of Induction
 Training and observing all departmental formalities.
 The appearance of the name in the merit-list does not confer any right on the candidate for
 employment. A final call letter/appointment letter will be issued to the candidate after completion of all
 other formalities.
 No request for revaluation of answer books shall be entertained in any case or under any circumstances.

11. Last Date :- The application complete in all respect should be received on or before 24.09.2010

12.Rejection : -Applications received after the closing date OR not accompanied by the requisite amount of Bank
 draft IPO (wherever applicable) for the prescribed examination fee OR not accompanied by attested copies of
 required certificates OR if the application is incomplete in any respect shall be summarily rejected and no
 communication in respect of the rejected application forms shall be entertained. Fees paid shall NOT be refunded
 .BSNL shall not be responsible for any postal dealy. The applicants would be admitted to the examination on the
 basis of the information furnished by them in their application form. They are therefore advised to ensure that they
 fulfil all eligibility conditions before applying. In case it is found at a later stage that the information furnished by an
 applicant does not fulfil any of the eligibility conditions , the candidature of such applicants would be cancelled
 and no correspondence in this regard would be entertained . Issuance of an Admit Card for the examination will
 NOT confer any right for appointment. Appointment will be solely subject to fulfilment of all eligibility conditions.

 13..Registration with Employment Exchange :- Registration with Employment Exchange is not mandatory
 However, it would be preferable if the applicant has registered his name in the employment exchange in the territorial
 jurisdiction of the concerned Telecom District / SSA ,

 14. Training and Bond:- Selected candidate will undergo the prescribed training as per the training plan laid down
 by the BSNL . During the period of training a stipend will be paid to the candidate as per the departmental rule in
 force. The selected candidate should execute a bond for a period of 5 (five) years to serve in BSNL in the pro-forma
 as may be specified by the BSNL.

 15. Disqualification:- No person (a) who has entered or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living or
 (b) who having a spouse living has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person shall be eligible for
 appointment , provided that the Central Govt. may if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law
 applicable to such persons and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing exempt
 any person from the operation of the rule.

 16. Probation:- The candidate so appointed shall remain on probation for a period of 2(Two)
 years .

 17. Jurisdiction:- The candidate shall if required will be liable to serve in the Territorial Army / Signal
 Unit for a period specified in the Territorial Army Act ,1948 ( 56 0f 1948) and the rules made there
 under.

 18. Already employed in Govt. Service :- Candidates already working under Central Govt / State Govt. /
 Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) should give details and the application must be forwarded by the
 present employer.

19. The applicants belonging to ST categories will be entitled to TA as per provisions of Ministry of Finance
(Dept. of Expenditure) OM No. 19014/3/77-E.IV(B) dtd 17-02-78 on production of original Caste Certificate
along with a photo copy and original railway ticket or bus ticket before claiming reimbursement of travelling
expenses (restricted to 2 nd class passenger train or public bus minus fair for the 1st 30 kms from both sides) for
the purpose.

20 . Enclosures to be attached with the application form:-
 1) 3 (Three) latest identical passport size photographs duly attested on the front by a gazetted officer of the
 Central/State Govt duly signed by the candidate across them. Out of the three one is to be affixed to the
 application form .
 2) Attested legible copy of caste certificate .
 3) Attested legible copy of latest PH certificate in case of PH candidate
 4) Attested legible copies of HSC and Diploma Certificate
 5) If ex-service man , legible attested copy of discharge certificate
 6) Two self-addressed unstamped envelops
 Please ensure that all the enclosures are annexed to the application properly. No column in the application form
 should be left vacant . The candidate should put her/his signature on all the true copies/xerox copies of certificates
 apart from attestation by a gazetted officer. The application without signature of the candidate will be REJECTED
 outright.
