    KOLKATA PORT TRUST
    Kolkata Port Trust intends to engage an ex- Serviceman Officer not below
    the rank of Captain in Army/ Asstt. Comdt. of CISF/ Dy. Supdt. of Police to work as
    Deputy Chief Security Officer on contract basis on the following terms and
    conditions :-

    (i) The engagement will be for a period of one year and on expiry of the said period, the
    contructual engagement will be automatically terminated. However, on expiry of the
    contract, KoPT reserves the right to enter into a fresh contract for such period and on
    such terms as may be mutually agreed upon.
    ii) The selected cadidate will be paid a monthly consolidated honorarium of Rs.15000/-
    p.m.
    iii) The selected cadidate will be entitled to TA and DA as admissible, when he will be on
    tour outside the Head Quarters on official duty of KoPT.
    iv) The selected cadidate may avail of the facility of KoPT accomodation (unfurnished)
    on payment of license fee/ rent, as applicable.
    (v) The selected cadidate will be required to work full time for 5 days in a week.
    However, in case of necessity, he will be required to work on Saturdays also (in
    addition to 5 days work in a week) and for this no compensation, monetary or
    otherwise, will be allowed. For work on any weekly off day/Trustee’s Holiday in
    exigency, he will be granted a compensatory day of rest conveniently and he will not
    be entitled to any monetary compensation for the same.
    (vi) The selected cadidate will be entitled to 15 days’leave in a year, ( 12 months from
    the date of engagement and proportionate in case of shorter period of engagement)
    which may be availed of with prior approval. For any unauthorised absence in
    excess of 15 days, pro-rata deduction will be made from the consolidated
    remuneration.
    (vii) Additionally, sick leave to the extent of 10 days in a year (12 months from the date
    of engagement and proportionate in case of shorter period of engagement) on illness
    may be allowed without any deduction from the remuneration on the basis of
    certification from KoPT Medical Officer. Intimation of sickness should be reported
    to the Head of Department/Reporting Officer forthwith in writing together with the
    certificate of illness from the registered Medical Practitioner in addition to verbal
    intimation over phone.
    (viii) The selected cadidate will be entitled to indoor and outdoor medical facilities as are
    available in KoPT Centenary Hospital for self only. However, no reimbursement for
    medicine / medical articles purchased from outside, diagnostic test done outside or
    treatment received outside will be allowed.
    (ix) The office of the selected cadidate will be at PSO Office, P-65, CGR Road, Kolkata-
    700 043.
    (x) The selected cadidate will report to Chief Security Officer, Kolkata Port Trust or as
    directed by Superior Authority.
    (xi) The selected cadidate will be responsible for all security related matters of KDS.
    (xii) The selected cadidate will be responsible for the charge and care of the KoPT’s
    money, goods and stores and all other property that may be entrusted on him and he
    will be accountable for the same.
    (xiii) The contructual engagement may also be terminated by giving one month’s notice
    from either side. However, the engagement is terminable on 24 hour’s notice for
    unsatisfactory performance and for any act considered to be derogatory/detrimental to
    the interest of the KoPT.
    (xiv) The selected cadidate will have to furnish requisite information for Antecedent
    Verification by the local Police Station of his place of residence.
    Mode of application
    Application furnishing detailed bio-data including name, date of birth, permanent
    address, address for communication, nationality, educational and professional
    qualification, experience, post held giving details of responsibilities shouldered, extra
    curricular activities and any other relevant information with two recent passport size
    photographs and copy of discharge document for Ex-servicemen should be submitted
    in sealed envelop superscribing “Application for Contractual Engagement as “Deputy
    Chief Security Officer” to the Secretary, Kolkata Port Trust, 15 Strand Road, Kolkata
    – 700 001 latest 12th October, 2010. Incomplete application or application received
    after 12th October, 2010 will not be entertained.
