Applications in the prescribed form in EIGHT COPIES are invited from the eligible candidates for the posts of Assistant Professor in the following departments.

Educational Qualifications and Scale of Pay: As per UGC Norms
Applications should be accompanied by a Demand Draft for Rs. 500/- drawn in favour of the "Registrar, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai" payable at Madurai towards the cost of application and registration fee. However, SC/ST candidates have to submit a Demand Draft for Rs. 300/- towards registration fee only. Instructions to Candidates
Eligibility Conditions:
Qualifications :
i. Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or equivalent grade of B in the 7 point
scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E and F where grading system is practised at the
Master’s Degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent
degree from a foreign University.
ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate should have cleared the National
Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC
like SLET/SET.
iii. Holders of Ph.D. Degree in the relevant subject shall be exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
iv. A relaxation of 5% will be provided at the Master’s level for the SC / ST/Differently Abled
v. A relaxation of 5%, from 55% to 50% of the marks will be provided to the Ph.D. Degree
holders, who have passed their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September 1991.

General Instructions to the candidate:
1. New Contributory Pension Scheme will be applicable (G.O.Ms.No.439/Fin / 2004, dated
6.8.2004).
2. Applications without prescribed fee and attested copies of testimonials will be
summarily rejected.
3. Persons who want to avail themselves of the benefit of reservation under the Differently
abled category will have to submit the Disability Certificate issued by the Competent
Authority in the prescribed format
4. The prescribed qualifications are the minimum and the mere possession of the same
does not entitle candidates to be called for interview. The University reserves the right to
shortlist the candidates
