EMOLUMENTS AND OTHER BENEFITS
:
(i) In addition to Basic Pay and DA, candidates selected for the post of Jr. Operator/ Technician-cum-
Attendant (S-1) and Operator-cum-Technician (S-3)
are also entitled for Contributory Provident Fund, Free
Medical Treatment for self and dependant family members, Reimbursement of Local Traveling Expenses,
Accommodation subject to availability / House Rent Allowance, LTC/LTA, Leave Encashment, Gratuity, etc.
as admissible as per rules of the Company.
(ii) Candidates selected for the post of Jr. Operator/Technician-cum-Attendant (Trainee) will be required to
undergo, on the job training, for a period of 2 (two) years, which can be extended for a further period of 2
(two) years, as per requirement. During the training period, the Trainees will be paid consolidated pay of
Rs.6600/- per month for the 1st year and Rs.7700/- per month for the 2nd year of training. On successful
completion of training, they shall be considered for regular employment in grade in the Scale of Pay of
Rs.8630-3%-12080/- (S-1). On regularization, they will be entitled for other allowances, as stated above,
as per rules of the Company.

MODE OF SELECTION:-

(i) Eligible candidates will be required to appear in the Written Test.
(ii) Candidates found eligible in the Written Test will be required to appear in the Interview.
(iii) Date, Time & Place of the Written Test and Interview will be intimated to eligible candidates.

RESERVATIONS:-

(i) The reservation of posts for SC/ST/OBC category is as per Presidential Directives.
(ii) Reservation for Persons with Disabilities will be on horizontal basis. Persons with Disabilities
having 40% or more disability will be considered.
(iii) Persons with Disabilities with the following disabilities will be considered.
I. For the post of Jr. Operator/Technician-cum-Attendant (Trainee)
(a) OH candidates with “One Leg affected (Right or Left) – (i) Impaired reach, (ii) Weakness of
grip, (iii) Ataxic” will be considered for the trade of Welder, Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Diesel
Mechanic, Instrumentation, Electrician, Electronics and Refrigeration & AC.
(b) OH candidates with “One Arm affected – (i) Impaired reach, (ii) Weakness of grip, (iii) Ataxic”
will be considered for the trade of Instrumentation.
(c) VH candidates who are “Partially Blind” will be considered for the trade of Fitter and Turner.
(d) HH candidates who are “Partially Deaf” will be considered for the trade of Welder, Fitter,
Turner, Machinist, Diesel Mechanic, Electrician, Electronics and Refrigeration & AC.
II. For the post of Jr. Operator/Technician-cum-Attendant (S-1)
VH candidates who are “Partially Blind” and HH candidates who are “Partially Deaf” will be
considered.
III. For the post of Operator-cum-Technician (S-3)
(a) OH candidates with “One Leg affected (Right or Left) – (i) Impaired reach, (ii) Weakness of
grip, (iii) Ataxic” will be considered for the discipline of Metallurgy, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil,
Electronics and Instrumentation.
(b) OH candidates with “One Arm affected – (i) Impaired reach, (ii) Weakness of grip, (iii) Ataxic”
will be considered for the discipline of Metallurgy, Mechanical, Civil and Instrumentation.
(c) HH candidates who are “Partially Deaf” will be considered for the discipline of Metallurgy,
Electrical, Civil and Electronics.
AGE RELAXATION:-

1) The maximum age is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates on production of Scheduled Caste/
Scheduled Tribe Certificate
issued by the Competent Authority in the prescribed format as given at
ANNEXURE-IV
.
2) The maximum age is relaxable by 3 years for OBC candidates on production of Other Backward Class
Certificate
issued on or after 01/04/2010 by the Competent Authority in the prescribed format as given at
ANNEXURE-V
and self declaration at ANNEXURE-VI. Candidates belonging to OBC category but coming in
the “Creamy Layer” are not entitled to age relaxation. Such candidates should indicate their category as
“General”.
3) In the case of Persons with Disability category candidates the age is relaxable by 10 years for GENERAL, 15
years for SC/ST and 13 years for OBC candidates on production of Disability Certificate issued by the
Competent Authority in the format as given at ANNEXURE-VII.
4) In case of Ex-Servicemen age is relaxable as per Government directives.
APPLICATION FEE:-

An Account Payee Demand Draft of Rs.250/- (Rupees Two hundred Fifty only) (non-refundable) drawn
on any Nationalized Bank, in favour of Steel Authority of India Ltd., Rourkela Steel Plant, Rourkela, payable at
Rourkela.
No other financial instrument except Bank Draft will be accepted and in case other instrument is
submitted, the same application is liable to be rejected.
SC/ST/PWD/ESM candidates are exempted from payment of such Application Fee.


GENERAL:

i. Candidates not fulfilling the requirement specified in this advertisement need not apply.
ii. Selection/joining of the candidate will be subject to medical fitness as per rules of the company.
iii. No Traveling Expenses would be payable to candidates called for Written Test. Outstation candidates
belonging to SC/ST categories, attending the interview will be reimbursed 2nd Class; single to and fro Railway
fare/Bus fare from the normal place of correspondence to the place of interview by the shortest route on
production of original ticket(s), provided the distance covered by rail or road is more than 30 kilometers each
way.

iv. Applicants should give clear and complete postal address for correspondence. SAIL/RSP will not be
responsible for any postal delay / wrong delivery / non-delivery of any communication at any stage of the
recruitment process.
v. SAIL/RSP reserve the right to reject any application or cancel the candidature or the whole process of
test/interview, without assigning any reason thereof and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in
this connection.
vi. Court of jurisdiction for any dispute will be at Rourkela.

3.0 The application should be neatly typed / filled in capital letter on a plain A4 size paper, affixing one recent
coloured passport size photograph with full signature on the photo and enclosing self attested photocopies of
the following documents.
a. Certificates, marksheets showing proof of age and Educational Qualifications,
b. Experience Certificate(s) [for the post of Junior Operator/Technician-cum-Attendant (S-1) and
Operator-cum-Technician (S-3)],
c. Caste/category Certificate in the prescribed format from the appropriate authority, if applicable.
d. A/c Payee Demand Draft of Rs.250/-, wherever applicable.
4.0 The candidate must write his/her name as it appears in the educational certificate of Matriculation or equivalent
examination. In case of change of name at a later stage necessary documentary proof to be submitted along
with the application.
5.0 Candidates presently employed in Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous Bodies or Govt. Departments
should apply through proper channel or must submit the “No Objection Certificate” from the employer at the
time of interview.
6.0 Incomplete application / application without enclosures as at Para-3.0 above / application received after the
last date / application submitted in a format other than the prescribed format / unsigned application / application
without photograph / application without application fee / application not fulfilling any of the eligibility criteria,
will be rejected summarily. No communication will be entertained from the applicants in this regard.
