CASE STUDY :
Aim : The project aim is creating computerized payroll application system.
Description : Project contains computerized payroll application package for a medium sized public sector organization of about 1000 employees. Initially we have created KSDS using COBOL. Mainly two datasets are involved in the project, one is master record and second one is salary records of the employee. All major operations such as insertion, deletion, attendance is done on the master record. As per the attendance record in the master dataset salary gets calculated and data gets saved in the second KSDS that is salary record.
Platform : COBOL, JCL, VSAM.
Role : Contributed for the requirement gathering and coding.
FINAL YEAR PROJECT : Watermarking Relational Databases Using Optimization Based Techniques.
Aim : The project aim is proving ownership rights on outsourced relational databases.
Description : We worked on the secure embedding of a robust imperceptible watermark in relational data. Mainly the process includes data partitioning, watermark embedding and watermark detection. In the data partitioning by using secret key data set is partitioned into non overlapping partitions and in watermark embedding with the help of optimization algorithm watermark is embedded multiple times into the data set by altering the partition statistics. The changes into the data are unnoticeable. Furthermore, the watermark detection is blinded that is neither requires the knowledge of the original data nor the watermark. The watermark bits are decoded using a majority voting technique.
Platform : JAVA.
Role : I was responsible for the following tasks
- Describing Software Requirement Specification (SRS) and collection of required data.
- Development of first module – Data Partition.
- Performing testing for the project.
Scope : Today in internet-based application environment and in many content distribution applications proving ownership on outsourced relational database is crucial issue. This application provides solution for proving ownership with imperceptible technique.
