Responsibilities:

Performing capacity planning required creating and maintaining the databases.

Performing ongoing tuning of the database instances.

Installing new versions of the Oracle RDBMS and its tools & any other tools that access the Oracle DB.

Installing, Configuration & Monitoring of Enterprise Manager Grid Control

Creating, Monitoring +ASM instances

Up gradation of Oracle to latest releases & applying security patches

Performing database re-organizations as required assisting performance & ensuring maximum uptime

Implementing, Monitoring & troubleshooting High Availability technologies like Data Guard

Creating & maintaining databases

Database Cloning/Refresh

Evaluating new releases of Oracle and its tools, and third party products to ensure that the product uses the most appropriate.

Troubleshooting with the problems regarding the databases, applications and development tools.

Oracle networking configuration

Testing, that OS versions are supported by Oracle database, network, middleware and application components.

Implementation, support, Analysis & performance tuning, replication for the client's various databases

Automation & generalization for accepted standards

Administration, Performance & Tuning, Backup & Recovery, Capacity Planning for Oracle DBs for Production, Staging, Testing environments

Up gradation of Development & Production Environment and coordinating with Application owner for customization after upgrade

Monitoring Daily and weekly database backup (HOT, COLD, Logical, RMAN backups) and re-run if job fails.

Analyze Index, tables and reorganizing whenever necessary.

User creation and maintenance.

Space management by continues monitoring of free space in tablespaces comparing with the highest next extent in the table space.

Monitoring logs for the errors, investigating errors, taking appropriate actions if required and escalating to the customer with the suggestions..

Monitoring session waits.

Working on service request from the customers.

Raising the Service request to metal ink and follow up for the solutions.

Creation of Database and location of initial data files, redo log files, control

Files and multiplexing them editing database initialization parameter files.

Creating users, roles, profiles, assigning roles and profiles to users.

Creating tablespaces, Data files, Log files and control files.

Taking logical and physical backups periodically.

Tuning Oralce9i database server using tools dynamic, dictionary views,

Configured Oracle9i database server creating configuration files such as

LISTENER.ORA, Specify network protocol such as TCP/IP.

Performance tuning & Query Optimization.

Storage management, sizing the database objects, monitoring file Systems and table space growth.

Schema Design and Security Administration for the database.

Resizing the SGA and tablespaces, added data files as when necessary.

Developing, testing, continuously monitoring, and updating the Backup and Recovery strategy.

This strategy includes all three types of backups like Logical (Import/Export), Offline or Cold, Online or Hot Backups of tablespaces.

Installation of Oracle software on different platforms Sun Solaris (5.8,5.9,5.10),HP-UX,LINUX and Windows 2000

Installation of Oracle 10g on AIX OS

ASM configuration and maintenance.

Applying Patches as required

Monitoring database for fragmentation and correcting them.

Carryout database migration to higher release/version of software.

Up gradation of database from 8i,9i to 10g

Cold backup & online backup and hourly archive log backups using RMAN

Perform backup and recovery of the database during outages.

Perform table space, table reorganization whenever required.

Database creation and configuration for single instance

Database recovery activities
