SUB : PROVISIONAL ENGAGEMENT OF SUB-STAFF CATEGORY OF PERSONS
AGAINST RESERVED VACANCIES
B&R is a premier central public sector enterprise presently engaged in construction activities at sites located
all over India and it’s workshop located at Howrah, West Bengal. In order to fill some of the temporary
vacancies(likely to be made permanent) particularly at Howrah in West Bengal, at present(transferable on all
India/regional basis), applications are invited from the interested eligible candidates belonging to Exserviceman(
ST only) who fulfill the eligibility criteria for the following position.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION
: Knowledge of Bengali
: Candidates applying for the post of Durwan must possess a Gun with valid license.
: Candidates applying for the post of Durwan must apply in prescribed application form (annexure
I), A certificate (annexure II) from the employer has to be produced along with the application.
Such candidates as are applying along with the above certificates are also required to submit an
undertaking duly signed by him in the prescribed format (annexure III).
RESERVATION & RELAXATION
Reservation & relaxation(if & wherever necessary) Orders for ST/ex-servicemen will be followed
as provided under laws in force, provided they are so eligible for such benefits as per their
respective registration/certifying authorities like DGR/Zila-Rajya Sainik Board, as applicable. For
ex-servicemen, the relaxation of upper age limit by the length of military service plus three years.
PAY AND OTHER BENEFITS
Besides the basic pay-scale mentioned above other benefits like variable DA, HRA, PF and
additionally, LTC, Gratuity, Leave & Leave encashment etc. are also admissible upon
permanency, as per the regulations/amendments in force.
HOW TO APPLY
Typed or neatly hand-written applications addressed to THE CHIEF GENERAL MANAGER
(HRD), BRIDGE & ROOF CO. (INDIA) LTD., 427/1, GRAND TRUNK ROAD, HOWRAH –
711 101 must reach by ordinary post within 06.09.2010+ along with detailed bio-data in the format
attached for ex-serviceman) along with Contact ph. no., attested copies of Certificates (Age proof,
Educational Qualification, medical &/or caste certificate, identity card from employment
exchange/DGR) in a sealed envelop, super-scribing the name of the post applied for. Late /
incomplete or otherwise ineligible applications will not be entertained & will be rejected without
any further reference to applicants / forwarding authority. In case of candidatures received from
forwarding/nominating authorities like Employment Exchange/VRC/Zila or Rajya Sainik Board,
supporting documents mentioned above shall be called for & verified later on, if and when
required. Applicants are advised to send advance copies of their applications within the due date
directly to the above address and such applications will be provisionally considered, subject to their
respective forwarding authorities furnishing such verified particulars latest within 3 months of date
of this notification.
Mere application/nomination/call for interview/Test does not confer any right to employment.
The selected candidates are also required to serve the necessary training/probation period.
Further, they are subject to verification of all credentials prior to regularization of service, even
upon provisional appointment. Canvassing in any form, false declarations, detected at any stage
shall result in outright rejection/termination, besides initiation of relevant criminal proceedings.
For administrative reasons, the Company may have to resort to actions like making panel of
selected candidates or to ask for applying afresh, as & when felt essential
Company reserves the right to reject any/all application(s) without assigning any reason to call
for interview or to modify the date of interview or to cancel the interview for the purpose.
