Role and Responsibilities :

Obopay is looking for a dynamic, technically-oriented Database Designer to join its team at Bangalore. In the role as Database Designer, you will be responsible for developing, understanding functionality and design/model database. Troubleshooting / Guiding / Resolving issue for offshore team on Database side.

* Works closely with product management team and application development team to design logical model as ER Diagrams.
* Performance Tuning of SQL and database schema.
* Owns Logical & Physical Data Models.
* Owns and Defines Metadata, Data Sources, Business Rules, Data Rules, Extract Rules and Transformations.
* Ensure Consistency across Implementations.
* The production of appropriate scripts that will realize the necessary database changes within different environments.
* Defines naming conventions and standards for database objects.
* Defines Data Archive/Purge Standards.
* Provide best practices and data solutions to meet the data needs of our business.
* Participates in performance and scalability and data security analysis, and translating these to database design specifications.
* Perform DBA activities like Backup, Restore, Migration to newer versions of the RDBMS/Application etc., when required

Qualifications and Education Requirements :
6-8 Years
BE/B.Tech/MS/M.Tech/MCA/M.Sc.

Mandatory Skills :
* Minimum 7 yrs experience in Oracle 8/8i/9i/10g and Oracle tools
* Experienced in designing databases for a J2EE distributed system.
* Data modeling/database designing using Modeling tools like Erwin.
* knowledge of Database Objects (triggers, packages, views, procedures and functions)
* Performance Tuning of SQLs
* Good understanding of SQL and writing effective SQL commands.
* Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Skills :
* PLSQL Development
* Good collaboration and communication skills
