Introduction: Assetz is a property development service company with a focus on complex, mixed use, investment grade projects in Asia. Assetz have been awarded a contract by the Royal Government of Bhutan (Department of Information Technology) to design, build, finance and operate Bhutan’s first IT Park. Assetz have created a special purpose vehicle (Thimphu TechPark Private Limited - TTPL) with joint venture partners, Druk Holdings & Investments, to deliver and operate the park.
Assetz is seeking to recruit a Communication & Marketing Manager before end 2009 to support the Project Director and his team in the promotion, communication and marketing of the TechPark.
The project is situated on five acres of land on the outskirts of Thimphu. The first phase, which is to be operational by September 2011, will comprise 50,000 sq ft of IT focused office and data centre. The project is a high profile, anchor scheme as part of the overall IT strategy for the country, and is in the public eye from the most senior level of Government, joint venture partners and the public.
Conceptual design of the project is under preparation by leaders in the field of architecture and engineering based in Asia and Europe. All aspects of design of the project will be sympathetic to the environment and cultural sustainability objectives. Offshore design will be supported by construction drawings and execution in Bhutan itself.
The Communications & Marketing Manager will be an integral part of the project team with the key responsibility of using marketing & communications tools to achieve perception enhancement objectives for Thimpu TechPark and the promoters of the project.
The Marketing & Communication Manager will report to the CEO, work in close coordination with Assetz’s central strategic marketing function; and be responsible for preparation and implementation of communication strategy. Targets for communication would include all stakeholders (Royal Government of Bhutan & relevant Ministries, World Bank, prospective corporate occupiers, shareholders and the general public).
The role is to be based in Bhutan with flexibility in terms of time commitment – the role is suitable for part time and flexible working hours. The ideal candidate for the project would have a proven track record in the fields of branding & communications ideally with experience within and outside of Bhutan. The position will be on a twelve month renewable contract.

Key Skills and Experience
-A minimum of 3 years high quality working experience in a marketing and/or communications function.
-Experience in result-oriented environments with multinational corporations or leading marketing &communications agencies.
-Strong coordination skills to manage agency relationships and stakeholders
-First class communication skills in English – both written and spoken with proven capability to present to a level which gains the confidence of audiences at every level of seniority.
-Comfortable and effective in the use of technology for team collaboration
-Reliable and self confident with strong collaborative and consensus building skills
-Study and/or work experience outside Bhutan is highly desirable.
