Job Description :
Job Scope :
The candidate should in close cooperation with Purchasing, Development and the suppliers. You will be responsible for the areas of Power Train / Transmission / Axles part costs, tool costing and play a supporting role in negotiations with suppliers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Target setting: Good knowledge on Target setting at individual part / aggregate level
- Analysis : Proactive problem solving skills and ability to develop and present business case for changes in product / plant / component design, sourcing and other changes. Demonstrate ability to work in cross-functional teams with project team members to address cost and budget impact. Good analytical ability of Bench marking Indian market price / specifications
- Adhoc Support: Provide Adhoc analytical support for projects as sustaining serial production and operations to senior Management as required.
- Reporting: Provide weekly / monthly updates of project status
- Value Engineering / Value Analysis: Evaluation of innovative concepts and alternative concepts. Improvement of series production cost by accelerating the implementation of cost optimization measurements
- Bottom up Costing: Very strong knowledge on Manufacturing process, detailed bottom up costing, tracking of commodity price on weekly / monthly basis. Good exposure on Indian / global Supplier base of Power train / transmission and parts. Knowledge on tooling cost calculation and analysis of your responsible part. Calculate/Determine target costs for tooling costing in the early phase of the project.
- On Site Assessment: Good exposure on Evaluation of manufacturing facilities of leading Indian / global suppliers.

Desired Profile:
Preferred Qualification, Knowledge and Experience:
- Graduate / Masters degree or equivalent in mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 4 to 9 years experience in cost planning / pricing / Procurement of Power train / Transmission parts
- Substantial knowledge in production technology.
- Good business / financial knowledge in particular in part and tool costing.
- Ability to negotiate on all levels
- Project management experience
- Vendor and Market knowledge
- Pronounced analytical skills and good PC-knowledge (MS Office)
- Presentation skills
- This job position requires a high amount of flexibility and the ability to work well in cross functional teams
