    Candidates are invited for recruitment to the following temporary positions in the project entitled “Systematic Documentation of Traditional Knowledge Related to Plants Used for Food and AYUSH & Indigenous Medicine” sanctioned to KSCSTE by Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, to be operated at TBGRI. (Project Code – A 114)

    1. Research Associate (Botany).
    (Purely field oriented work in the rural and tribal areas of Kerala)
    1 post
    35 yrs
    Ph.D in Botany or M.Sc. Botany with 60% marks and minimum one year experience in the field of Ethnobotany/Taxonomy work.
    Desirable
    – Experience in Systematic Documentation of Traditional Knowledge and Preparation of database, proficiency in writing scientific articles and books; good organizational and communication skill.
    Rs. 15,000/- first year.
    Rs. 16,000/- second year.
    Rs. 18,000/- third year.

    2.Research Associate (Ayurveda).
    (Purely field oriented work in the rural and tribal areas of Kerala)

    Ph.D in Dravyaguna Vijnana or MD (Ay), specialized in Dravyaguna Vijnana (Ayurvedic Pharmacology/Pharmacognosy) or BAMS with M.Sc. (Medicinal Plants) from a recognized university with minimum one year experience in teaching or research on medicinal plants related research work / Ethnomedicine / Traditional Knowledge.
    Desirable
    – proficiency in writing scientific articles and books; good organizational and communication skill.
    In the absence of candidates with qualification and experience mentioned above, BAMS candidates with the same experience mentioned above will be considered.
    Rs. 15,000/- first year.
    Rs. 16,000/- second year.
    Rs. 18,000/- third year.

    Age limit – calculated as on 1st January 2010 (Age relaxation will be given to SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Govt. of India norms). Interested candidates may appear for a Walk-in-Interview on 18-08-2010 at 10 AM at Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute with application, updated CV, original and attested copies of certificates and mark lists and proof of age *Age and qualification will be relaxed if the candidates have more experience in the concerned subject and field work subjected to the decision/approval of selection committee.
