Vacancy Notification For Technical Staff i.e , QC Inspector (Mech./Elect) and Planner
Estimator (Mech./Elect) for appointment On Contract basis for SC/ST/ OBC (Non-
Creamy Layer) , GEN. Candidates –Unfilled Vacancies
Mazagon Dock Limited (MDL) invites applications from eligible SC/ST/OBC ( Non
creamy Layer) & General candidates for appointment on Contract Basis in the following
category.

02. Minimum Qualification:
The Candidate must have passed SSC/HSC and full /part time Diploma in Mechanical/
Electrical/ Electronic and Marin Engineering with 55% or equivalent marks in
Examination conducted by the Technical Board recognized by the Government of India.
Or
Degree in Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical/ Electronic and Marin Engineering from
a recognized university, with Pass Marks
The grouping of discipline in Engineering for each discipline will be as under:

03. Age Limit:
The maximum age limit is 28 years & minimum not less than 18 yrs as on 01.08.2010
i) Relaxation in upper age limit is 5 years for SC/ST candidates & 3 years
for OBC candidates as per Rules
ii) Relaxation in upper age limit for the persons with disability is 10 years for
general candidates, 15 years for SC/ST and 13 years for OBC as per Govt.
Rules.
iii) Ex-operative of MDL will get age relaxation to the extent of their period of
contract in MDL, over and above age relaxed at 3 (a) &3 (b) above.

04. Period of Contract:
The contract for all the above categories will be for a maximum period of two years.

05. Description of Duties
A) Submarine Division:
QC Inspector will carry out inspection of joining of subsections of submarine 3 &
Submarine 4, Outfitting work of various sections of Submarine and Supporting activities for
above and manufacturing of non-pressure hull structures of Submarine 1 to Planner Estimator will carry out work pertaining to preparation of work instruction and
other related documents pertaining to submarine 3 & Submarine 4
B) SB Division
To carry out inspection by the QC Inspector relating to pre sea trial activities of yard 627,
637, 701, Outfitting of yard 702 & 703.

06. Pay and Allowances
1. Basic pay for 1st year Rs.7500/- and 2nd year Rs.7575/-per month
(in the IDA -5 scale of Rs.7500-22430) and DA as per rules
2. HRA @ 30% of the Basic Pay
3. Educational Allowance of Rs.100/- per month
4. Medical Allowance Rs.640/- per month
5. Transport Allowance Rs.800/- per month
6. Milk Allowance Rs.5/- per day based on attendance
7. Food Allowance Rs.65/- per day for outdoor duty.
8. They will be governed by ESIC Act

07. Leave
The appointees shall be entitled for leave as per leave rules of the Company.

08. How To Apply
a) Application in the format given at the end of this advertisement may be down
loaded from our website www.mazagondock.gov.in under head Career. The
application should be filled legibly in Hindi, Marathi or English in Block letters on
an A-4 size paper. Application not submitted in format will be rejected
b) A recent passport size colour photograph self attested should be pasted at right
hand top corner in the space provided in the application
c) Candidates must attach self attested copies of certificates in support of their age,
qualification, experience and caste certificate along with the application. The OBC
candidates seeking reservation are required to attach certificate regarding OBC
(Non-Creamy layer status) not older than 6 months on 01.08.2010 issued by the
competent authority in prescribed format only
d) OBC (NCL) candidates are required to produce a caste certificate only in the
prescribed form and issued by the following authorities:-
a)District Magistrate / Additional District Magistrate / Collector / Deputy
Commissioner / Additional Deputy Commissioner / Deputy Collector / 1st Class
Stipendiary Magistrate / Sub Divisional Magistrate / Taluka Magistrate /
Executive Magistrate / Extra Assistant Commissioner.
b)Chief Presidency Magistrate / Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate /
Presidency Magistrate.
c)Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar and Sub Divisional Officer of
the area where the candidate and / or his family normally resides.
d)Administrator / Secretary to Administrator / Development Officer (Lakshdeev
& Minicoy Islands).
e)Candidates serving in Government/Quasi Government offices, Public Sector
Undertakings are instructed to submit their application through proper channel.
In case, he sends an advance copy of the application, he will have to submit a
“No Objection Certificate” from his employer at the time of Interview /Trade
Test, failing which his candidature will not be considered.
f)The filled in application in prescribed format in all respects along with all
enclosures, the candidate should remain present on the date mentioned against
the post above with original documents for verification.
g)The envelope containing the application form must be superscribed with
“APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ________________________on
“Contract Basis”.
h)Incomplete or late application will be rejected without any communication of
the reasons and decision of MDL shall be final.

09. General Information:
a) While applying for the post, the applicants must ensure that the particulars
furnished by him/her are correct in all respects. In case it is detected at any stage
of recruitment or even after appointment on contract basis, that he/she has
furnished incorrect/false information, or has suppressed any material fact, his/her
candidature will stand cancelled / services may be terminated without
compensation
b) The candidates selected for appointment are required to serve in different shifts
and places as identified by the company.
c) The appointment of candidates is subject to being declared medically fit by the
Chief Medical Officer of the Company’s as per rules.
d) Short listed candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be called for the
Interview. Those candidates who qualify in the interview will be eligible to
appear for the Trade Test.
e) The decision of the Management in all matters regarding the eligibility criteria,
Trade Test, Interview, selection would be final and binding on all the candidates.
There will be a common interview & Trade Test for both posts. The candidate
higher on merit list will be selected as Planner Estimator and those lower on the
merit will be selected as Quality Control Inspector. No representation or
correspondence will be entertained by the Company in this regard.
f) The candidates are advised not to enclose the original certificates/mark sheets
along with the applications.
g) Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification for appointment.
