Applications are invited from eligible Candidates for appointment on following temporary
post in Bihar State Electricity Board:-

1 Post Code A, Lower Division Assistant
PB-1 Grade pay- Rs.3300 (Provisional)
40 Posts

2 Post Code B, Junior Account Clerk/ Bill Clerk
PB-1 Grade pay- Rs.3000 (Provisional)
250 vacancies

** The above mentioned total nos. of posts may be increased or decreased.

The above posts carry other allowances as admissible in Bihar State Electricity Board, Patna.A shadow panel may be prepared for further filling up of the posts, if required.

2. Educational Qualification (As on 01-06-2010):-

*Applicable only for Female (UR) Candidates of Bihar domicile.
PHP Candidates shall get relaxation in maximum age limit by 10 years additionally. They
have to produce necessary certificates in this respect.
Land losers/ Land displaced persons due to land acquisition by Bihar State Electricity Board
shall get relaxation in maximum age limit by 5 years additionally.
For claiming relaxations in the Category of land losers/ land displaced persons, the
Candidates have to produce certificate from concerned District Magistrate/ Dy. Commissioner, of the
following effect to avail the benefit:-
(i) That he is a land displaced person due to land acquisition by the Bihar State Electricity
Board.
(ii) That his one acre or more land has been acquired for the construction of power plant or
any other infrastructure of the Board.
(iii) That no one from his family has benefited in preferential treatment in employment on the
basis of land displaced person.
The maximum age for regular employee of Bihar State Electricity Board will be 50 years.
For the purpose of calculation of maximum age of the Candidates who are domicile of other
States than of Bihar, they will be treated as UR Candidates.

4. Reservation:-
Reservation will be given in terms of reservation rules and policies of Govt. of Bihar.
The benefit of reservation is available only to the permanent domiciles of Bihar. The
Candidate who claims for reservation benefit will have to submit along with the application the Caste
and Creamy Layer Certificate issued by the District Magistrate of his/ her home district in the
prescribed Performa of Govt. of Bihar and the same should not have been issued more than a year
before. The Candidate who belongs to SC/ ST are not required to submit the Creamy Layer
Certificate.
If a Candidate does not produce valid caste & creamy layer, Physically Handicapped
certificate, Land looser/ Land displaced persons or domicile certificate etc., (as applicable), in
original at the time of counseling his/ her claim for such reservation/ benifit will be forfeited and his/
her Candidature will be considered under UR Category/ General Candidate.

5. Probation Period:-
The Probation Period shall be one year from the date of appointment.

6. Application Fee:-
Application fee is Rs. 300/- (Rupees three hundred) for all categories except SC/ ST of Bihar
domicile, for whom it is Rs. 75/- (Rupees seventy five).
Candidates have to obtain requisite demand draft prior to applying on line.
Application fee is acceptable from any scheduled Bank in the form of crossed demand draft in
favour of "I.I.P PROJECT RECRUITMENT, 2010" payable at Kolkata. The validity of bank draft
must be at least six months from the date of issue of this advertisement. The applicant must write his/
her name, on line auto generated registration no. and address on the back of the Bank draft. The
application fee is non-refundable. Before submission of application, applicant must ensure that the
Bank draft is correct in all respects. In case of non-encashment of Bank draft or incorrect Bank draft,
the application will be rejected. SC/ ST of other States will be treated as UR Candidates even for the
purpose of Application fee.

7. Mode of Selection:-
(i) Preliminary screening of application.
(ii) Short listing of applications for written test.
(iii) Objective Type Written Test
(iv) Computer Literacy Test in English --- Qualifying.
The preliminary screening of applicant will be made on the basis of marks obtained at
various examinations and additional marks for special category Candidates belonging to land looser/
land displaced person.
The weighted marks (W.M.) for the purpose of preliminary screening of Candidates will be
calculated in following manner:-
WM = 0.2 X % of marks in Matriculation + 0.8 X % of marks in Graduation + ( 5 marks for
higher qualification)

Example- If a Candidate has secured 70% in Matric, 65% in Graduation examination, and has
done Master degree or its equivalent, then his WM = 0.2 X 70 + 0.8 X 65 + 5 = 71
For Land displaced person/ Land looser due to land acquisition in BSEB. W.ML. = 1.05 X
(W.M.).
(a.) A combined merit list will be prepared on the basis of above norms and 50 times to the
number of vacancies existing in any category will be called for written test on the basis of the
combined merit list. For example, total nos. of vacancies for unreserved category for different posts
is 145, then 145 X 50 = 7250, Candidates under unreserved category will be called for written test.
(b.) Graduation with honours will not be treated as higher qualification.

8. How to apply:-
The applicants are to apply through on line on the Website of I.I.P. at http://www.examfeedback.org/bseb.asp or on the Website of B.S.E.B. at http// bseb.bih.nic.in. The
Website will be open from 20-07-2010 to 20-08-2010. After filling up the ON-LINE application,
Candidates have to take a print out of the same. Print out of the application along with necessary
certificates, as specified on Website, shall have to be sent through registered post/ speed post to- The
Director, Indian Institute of Psychometry, "Evergreen Plaza", 2nd to 5th Floor, 117, B.T. Road,
Kolkata, West Bengal, Pin- 700108, so as to reach on or before the last date i.e. -04-09-2010 .
8.1 Print out of the filled in on line application form having auto generated Registration
number with two photographs snapped within last six months out of which one should be pasted on
the space provided on the application form and rest one photograph should be enclosed.
8.2 Demand draft must be duly endorsed with the Candidate's name and on line
Registration no. on its reverse.
8.3 Self signed, legible, duly attested and clear photocopy of the following certificates and
mark sheets shall have to be attached with the application form:-
(a.) Matriculation Mark-sheet,
(b.) Graduation Mark-sheet & Certificate,
(c.) Certificate of Matriculation in support of age,
(d.) Caste and Creamy Layer Certificate, if reservation benefit is claimed,
(e.) Any higher qualification certificate,
(f.) If PHP Candidates, certificate from competent authority,
(g.) If land loser/ land displaced person certificate issued from District Magistrate/
Dy. Commissioner.
(h.) Domicile Certificate.

General Instructions:-
1. The Print out application has to be sent only through registered/ speed post. No
application will be entertained or received through person. The name of the post and post code must
be super-scribed on the envelope containing the application.
2. The person employed in Govt./ Semi Govt. organization/ Public sector must also send
the additional copy of the print out of the on line application form through proper channel, so as to

reach by 04-09-2010 . The envelop containing this application must clearly super-scribed as
"through Proper Channel" and name of the post applied for.
3. The Candidates will be liable for serious legal action if any false information with
respect of name, father's name date of birth, address, educational qualification, percentage of marks,
caste certificate, photographs etc. is furnished by him/ her.
4. The centre for written test/ CLT will be normally in Bihar. In some circumstances, the
centers may be changed.
5. No TA/DA will be paid to the Candidate, if called for written test/ Computer Literacy
Test / Counseling etc.
6. The BSEB reserves right to cancel the selection process at any stage and increase or
decrease the nos. of posts to be filled according to the exigencies of the Board.
7. Each Candidate is required to submit only one application form. The applicants who
are eligible for both posts in terms of advertisement have to indicate their preference in the space
provided in the application form. The preference exercised once will be final. Submission of
multiple applications will lead to cancellation of the Candidature.
8. The merit list for selection will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in written
test.
9. On the basis of Written Test Candidates in the ratio of 1:3 will be called for Computer
Literacy Test (CLT)
10. On the basis of written test and qualifying in the Computer Literacy Test (CLT), a
merit list will be prepared for document verification.
11. Minimum qualifying marks will be applicable for all categories (Unreserved/
Reserved) in written test as per prevalent norms of Govt. of Bihar.
12. Minimum qualifying marks for CLT will be 50%.
13. Candidates are advised to possess a valid e-mail ID, which is to be entered in the online
Application form. The e-mail address specified in the application should be valid/ functional for
at least 12 months from the date of the submission of application.
14. The Board is not responsible for any printing mistake.
15. The advertised posts may increase or decrease as per requirement of the Board.
