TNRWSSP is expected to bring about positive health and environmental benefits by supplying ‘safe’ drinking water from sustainable sources. As a Project manager, I was involved in the overall team co-ordination and involved in Detail Environmental Assessment through public consultations with various local communities, local bodies and concerned departments and involved in the preparation of Environmental Management Plan and Guidelines. The scope of work also included preparation of overlay and trend analysis to identify the hot spots and prepare development strategies.
Corporate Plan and Business Plan for Thiruchengode, Namakkal. Cuddalore and Myladuthurai Municipalities, Madurai, Dindigul and Kodaikanal Municipalities India – WB assisted.
This World Bank funded project under TNUDP-II relied on the bottom-up approach for development of city development strategies for the above three municipalities. As a Project Manager, I was responsible for overall co-ordination and report preparation. Also involved in consultation with key stakeholders and focus groups, strategic planning and reporting in urban, socio-economic, environmental, infrastructure areas.
Development Plan and Master Plan for Sangli- Miraj- Kupwad Municipalities, Maharastra
This project involved development plan for the urban agglomeration consisting the above three municipalities covering an area of nearly 112 km2. I was responsible for review of the existing developments and carrying out land suitability analysis using GIS and programming to identify future proposals with proposed land use. As a Co-ordinator, worked closely with the Sangli, Miraj and Kupward Municipalities and Space Application Centre in Ahmedabad and also other line agencies for preparation of development and infrastructure plans and capacity building for local bodies.
Development of Industrial Areas in Ambattur, Thirumazhisai and Thirumudivkkam in Tamil Nadu (SEZ)
The project involves the site planning, design and marketing for lands parcels and existing poor industrial units in the Industrial estates around Chennai. Project includes study and survey of the existing land parcels, feasibility studies, Site planning, Architectural design and Planning for Infrastructure facilities including roads and Landscape, etc. As project manager involved in overall management of the project and preparation of plans and design concepts and market strategies for these economic zones.
Rehabilitation Plan for Bhachau Town, Gujarat
This project involved the total rehabilitation and planning of the town from scratch. The scope of work involved surveying, demand assessment and preparation of detail layout for the town in consultation with local body and disaster plan. As a team player involved in developing planning concepts and dissemination of information, Infrastructure Planning and Disaster Management Plan for the new town..
Karnataka Urban Development and Coastal Environmental Management Project, India
This is an integrated urban infrastructure development project funded by the ADB. As part of the design team, I worked on identification of community needs, and providing input for conceptual designs and site planning for municipal facilities. I was involved in site selection for facilities using GPS – survey maps and Satellite imageries.
