The Projects Handled
Project # 1 :
Bluetooth Co-existence with WLAN
Description :
The test setup involves the WLAN solution with a 3rd Party Blue tooth solution. The main aspect of this project is to check existence of communication in both WLAN as well as Bluetooth devices with time sharing basis. The traffic existed in the WLAN communication will not interfere with Bluetooth traffic. The high priority is given to Bluetooth traffic.
The test plan includes different type of integration tests and acceptance test cases. In integration test cases, we will inspect whether the two traffics are sharing the time or not. Like during BT inquiry mode, it will not allow others to take communication channel. i.e., WLAN will stop the transmission. The other test cases like Priority arbitration, Priority arbitration with power save, Long test stability tests, A2DP test cases etc.
In Acceptance test cases we usually perform WLAN VOIP traffic with BT Music, WLAN web browsing with BT headset etc.

Third Party BT(Bluetooth) Coexistence.
Description :
Test set-up involves a Host platform and a Gemini Board, that contains both the WLAN chip (BGW 200) and the Bluetooth chip (BGB 203) as the target. For transferring data between the Bluetooth devices another remote BT devices is used. Data transferred between the BT devices by Philips Bluepearl software. All the data is captured by Logic analyzer. Then these captured data analyzed under different condition made by Philips one of these, Checking that WLAN transmissions occur only if WLAN has ownership of the medium etc.

Cisco Compatibility Test with WLAN
Description :
Test set-up involves a Host platform OMAP Board, that contains the WLAN chip (BGW 200/220) and the Nova Board Ver.1.3 as the target. For transferring data between the OMAP devices to Target TCP protocol is used. Data transferred between the CCX devices by Philips software. All the data is captured by Logic analyzer and Digiview.
CCX(Cisco Compatible Extension) Testing on IEEE 802.11g WLAN Driver.
Objective : The objective of this project involves the testing that is necessary to verify that the Georgia 802.11g feature release conforms to the Cisco CCX requirements prior to the testing in Cisco’s Interoperability lab.The CCX program ensures the widespread availability of client devices that are interoperable with a Cisco Wireless LAN (WLAN) infrastructure and take advantage of Cisco innovations for enhanced security, mobility, quality of service, and network management.
Setup : Test set-up involves a Host platform and a WLAN chip, as the target. The target chip is DSP based hardware where the firmware is downloaded from the host. In the host side there is a host driver, which interfaces with the WLAN chip using the firmware. Both the firmware and the host driver are proprietary. The host driver is different for different platforms, where as the firmware is same for all.
