These heavier vertical members are located at intervals to allow for concentrated loads. Bulkhead along with Frames and Longerons aid in the design and construction of a stream lined fuselage. They add to strength & rigidity of structure. These members are machined or Sheet metals built-up are truss type. This project involves details study of structural parts of aircraft & system components with their locations in the aircraft and involves creating a fully dimensioned model of the bulkhead, by taking the NMG of the trainer aircraft as the input.
Project # 3 : MODELING & DETAILING OF RH-FRAMES AND BRACKETS FOR LCA TRAINER.

Modeling of these structural components using Aircraft contours (NMG’s)

Project Description : Theyare designed to stiffen the skin and assist in resisting shear &
bending loads. A stiffener is a member used to reinforce thin sheets.

PROJECT TITLE : “BEHAVIOR OF COTTON FABRIC HYBRID COMPOSITES”Description: Most of the research has been carried out on glass fiber, carbon fiber but much work has not been done, with the cotton fabric. This work investigates on the variation of charpy impact strength, drop weight impact strength and tensile strength. In this experimental work cotton (2x40 counts), E-glass fiber (200 GSM), epoxy resin (LY 556) & hardner (HY 951) have been used.According to the type of matrix material being used for specimen preparation, in this work for making fabrication by using method Hand lay-up process with appropriate material safety data sheet (MSDS), specimen is prepared on thick glass sheet as per dimensions given by ASTM standard.Consider for 2mm thickness of specimen volume of epoxy 60%, e-glass 25% & cotton 15% respectively test results are for drop weight impact strengths – crack initiation energy 4.905J and Breaking energy 11.28J, for charpy impact strength – energy absorbed 0.6J & for tensile strength – highest ultimate stress of 0.171 KN/mm2, & strain 7.56 x 10-3.Team Size : 5
