    Plant Manager – Concrete Production
    Location Accra - Ghana (West Africa)

    In response to growth and expansion, Yadco Concrete Products Limited a leading manufacturer of concrete (blocks, pavement blocks and pipes), is seeking to employ a Plant Manager to oversee its concrete production process. The company is equipped with state of the art concrete manufacturing plant with the PLC system. Yadco Concrete Products is located in the heart of Accra the capital city of Ghana.

    SUMMARY
    The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall plant operations and ensuring non-stop production in an effective, safe and profitable manner.
    Ensuring workplace safety and maintaining quality control program.
    Recommend measures to improve production methods and equipment performance.

    Analyze work orders and estimate worker hours. Coach, train, mentor employees on the safe and efficient method of operating plant equipment. Ensure that we provide a great place to work that is safe and clean. Ensure that we produce quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations. Understand the operations of the plant and equipments. Effectively lead employees.

    Order raw materials to ensure the efficient running of the plant. Prepare and maintain appropriate production records. Monitor, coordinate and assist with physical inventory counts. Attend and participate in meetings, seminars and training sessions as required.

    Schedule regular safety meetings. Work with supervisors and HR to address personnel issues, implements steps in the progressive discipline policy. Identify and develop high potential operations and management personnel. Manage scheduling of fixed and mobile equipment maintenance programs. Ensure plant personnel are properly trained on maintenance standards, policies and procedures. Coordinate between Sales and Operations to ensure proper balance between production and inventory levels. Promote a cooperative environment, working with the sales department to ensure optimum customer service. Keep informed of all government rules and regulations and how they apply to the industry.

    Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    Hire, train, motivate and supervise plant employees. Interview applicants, conduct new employee orientation and set up training programs. Assist in instruction, training, and leading of employees in the performance of their job duties. Maintain discipline, monitor attendance and appraise performance. Recommend promotion, salary adjustments, disciplinary action and termination. Ensure department personnel practices conform to the personnel department's policies and programs.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

    PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
    Ability to lift concrete products and other objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
    Endure continuous standing and walking
    Provide assistance to others in moving heavier or bulky objects.
    Able to work closely with others and individually.

    REQUIREMENTS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
    Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combinations of education, experience and training. One to two years related experience and or training, Knowledge of labor laws.

    Knowledge of construction products. Must have basic knowledge of electronics and programmable controllers, Know the operation of the block producing equipment and accessory equipment, Ability to calculate figures/amounts. Good oral and written communication skills Ability to train and instruct employees, Good analytical problem solving skills, Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.

    4. Numix Concrete Industries (Sultanate of Qatar) working in Liebherr plants automation supervisor, from 2008 Nov to March 2010.
    5. NRIC (Libya) worked as maintenance manager for Liebherr plants (twin shaft and pan mixer plants) from 2010 Aug to Feb. 2011.
