Central Electricity Supply Utility of Orissa (CESU) , a leading Power Distribution
Utility engaged in the distribution of electricity approximately with 11.5 lakh
consumers spread over in nine revenue districts in the State of Orissa, invites
applications from the eligible candidates for the following position:
MANAGEMENT TRAINEE GRADUATE ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL)

01. Qualification: The candidate must be a citizen of India having Degree in
Electrical Engineering with at least 60% marks in the qualifying examination from a
Recognized University / Institution. Personnel engaged in CESU Distribution System
having Degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 50% marks in the qualifying
examination from a Recognized University / Institution are also eligible. In case of
candidates awarded with Grades/ CGPA in their final qualifying examination, it will
be their responsibility to furnish the norms of the concerned University/Institution
regarding conversion of CGPA into percentage of marks.
The passing of Oriya Language Test equivalent to ME Standard & Knowledge in
Computer Operation are essential.

02. Job Profile: This is a challenging job which includes maintenance of lines and
sub-stations in the distribution network from 33KV lines to LT distribution,
commercial activities of the Utility including energy audit, loss reduction & control,
customer care, general administration and materials management, ABT, Demand Side
Management etc. His/Her continuance in the organization will depend on successful
achievement of the above parameters based on targeted milestone.

03. Age: The candidate should be above 21 years of age and below 32 years of age as
on 01.07.2010. The upper age limit is relaxable in case of candidates engaged in
CESU Distribution System or any other Distribution Utility.

04. Experience : The candidates who are having experience in the area of ABT,
Demand Side Management, Energy audit, Loss reduction will be given preference.

05. Selection Procedure: Eligible candidates will be called for written test. Only those
candidates who qualify in the Written Test will be called for personal interview at
Bhubaneswar. The date and venue of Written Test will be intimated in due course.
Preference shall be given to the candidates having work experience in Power
Distribution System like CESU or any other Distribution Utility at the time of
Interview. 06. Training & Prospects : On selection, they shall be appointed as Management
Trainees for a minimum period of one year. The training period may be extended for
another six months to one year, if his/her performance is found unsatisfactory. During
the training period, they shall be paid monthly-consolidated stipend @ Rs.12,000/-.
On successful completion of Training, they shall be placed as Asst. Manager
(Electrical) on probation in the Pay Scale of Rs.9,300-34,800/- with Grade Pay of
Rs.4,600/- in E-3 Grade with D.A, H.R.A, Medical Allowance and other perquisites
as per Rules of the Utility.

07. Procedure to Apply: The eligible candidates may submit their applications in the
following format neatly typed or hand written and duly filled in along with Account
Payee Bank Draft (non refundable) of Rs 250/- (Rupees two hundred fifty only) drawn on
a Scheduled Bank in favour of CESU, Bhubaneswar, payable at Bhubaneswar,
attested copies of certificates and Mark sheets {starting from Matriculation on wards
along with copy of certificate of passing Oriya Language test of ME standard (not
applicable to the candidates who have passed Matriculation Examination with Oriya
as one of the language papers)}, documents in support of relevant experience if any,
two attested copies of recent passport size photographs(one to be pasted on the
application form), two self addressed stamped (worth Rs.25/-) envelopes (25 cms x 11
cms) should be addressed to “The Sr. General Manager (HR), Central Electricity
Supply Utility of Orissa , IDCO Tower (2 nd Floor), Janapath, Bhubaneswar,
Orissa, Pin – 751022”. The envelope containing application should be superscribed
“Application for the Post of Management Trainee (GEE)”. The candidate is required
to write his full name on the reverse of the Demand Draft.
The Last Date of receipt of application is 31st July 2010. The application
received after due date or in incomplete shape or without required enclosures or not in
the prescribed format shall not be entertained. The Management reserves the right to
accept/reject any application on the basis of above criteria, to increase or decrease the
number of positions advertised or cancel the entire recruitment process and to restrict
the number of candidates to be called for Written Test / Interview, raising the
eligibility standard.
