Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the given posts at Central Agricultural
Research Institute (ICAR) Port Blair in the prescribed format.

General Instructions:-
1. The posts no. 1, one of post no. 2, and post no. 4 & Post no. 26 are for main campus of CARI at
Port Blair. One posts of item no. 2 will be at KVK, Car Nicobar, District Nicobar and one at
KVK, Sipighat, South Andaman district. Posts No. 5 to 14 & 27 (except 11 which will be located
at KVK, Sipighat, South Andaman District) will be located at KVK, Car Nicobar, District
Nicobar.

2. Post No. 15 to 25 & 28 will be located at KVK, Nimbudera, District North & Middle Andaman.
However these posts will be filled up only after sanction letter is received from ICAR.

3. The post is non- government but pensionable as per introduction of new pension scheme i.e., on
contribution basis. Other allowances admissible as per ICAR rules.

4. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of
selection/test /interview/ appointment. Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification.

5. Age limit for posts at Sl.No. 1,2,3,12,13,14,21,22,23,24,25(18 to 30 years) Sl.No. 26 to 28 (18-
27 years) and for rest it is 35 years. Age relaxation for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe for
05(five) years and OBC 03(Three) years. No age limit for regular ICAR employees.

6. The Candidates already employed in Government / semi Government Organization should route
their application through proper channel.

7. Certificate proof of age Educational qualification, Experience, Caste Certificate (in Case of
SC/ST/OBC certificate issued by competent authority attested by Gazetted officer should be
enclosed along with the application.

8. Application fees of Rs. 100/- in the form of Demand Draft in favour of ICAR Unit CARI, Port
Blair payable at S.B.I, Garacharma Branch (Code No. 09670) should be sent along with the
application (Candidates belonging to SC/ST Category are exempted from application fee).

9. Envelope containing filled in application should be superscribed as “Application for the post of
T-3,T-1(Field Assistant/ Lab Assistant)/, T-1(Driver),T-4(Farm Manager) T-6 (Senior Tech.
Officer), T-6(SMS)(Hort.), T-6 (SMS) (Agronomy) , T-6(SMS) (Animal Science), T-6 (SMS)
(Fisheries), T-6 (SMS) (Engg.,), T-6 (SMS) (Plant Protection), T-6 (SMS) (Home Science) ,
T-4(Prog. Asstt.) (Seed Production), T-4(Prog. Asstt.) (Computer), T-4(Farm Manager), Junior
Clerk & Junior Stenographer. Any candidate applying for more than 1(one) post should submit
separate application for each post.

10. Application complete in all respects in the Prescribed Proforma should reach to the Director,
Central Agricultural Research Institute(ICAR), Post Box No. 181, Bathu Basthi, Garacharma
(Post) Port Blair-744101 Andaman & Nicobar Islands within 45 days after publication of
advertisement in employment News.

11. Application received after due date and without prescribed proforma will not be considered.
