Director, NRCB invites application from the eligible candidates for filling up of one
Technical Assistant (T-3) post at NRCB, Trichy. The post is permanent in nature and at present
is filled on temporary basis. The appointee will be made permanent subject to satisfactory
completion of probationary period.

One (unreserved) NRC for Banana, Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu.

Qualification : Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture / Agriculture with minimum 60% marks
from a recognized university.

Desirable : Masters Degree in Horticulture / Agriculture. Knowledge of computer
application and local language (Tamil).
Experience : Preferably in Banana Cultivation.

*Age limit : Not exceeding 30 years as on the last day for receipt of application.
Relaxable upto 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC as per Govt. of
India Rules.

General instructions for candidates :
1. Applications for the above post may neatly be typed in MS-WORD – TIMES NEW
ROMAN FONT – 12 SIZE in the prescribed format given below containing particulars
/ information duly supported by attested copies of educational / technical experience
certificate etc. The applications complete in all respects, should reach the Director, National
Research Centre for Banana (ICAR), Thogamalai Road, Thyanur Post, Tiruchirapalli – 620
102 (Tamil Nadu) on or before 18.08.2010 (Wednesday) along with a demand draft
for Rs.300/- drawn in favour of “ICAR Unit – NRCB, Trichy” payable at Trichy. No fees for
SC/ST candidates.
2. Persons already employed should route their application through proper channel.
3. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates called for interview. However, unemployed SC/ST
candidates called for interview / test will be paid travelling expenses to the extent permissible
2nd class ordinary fare as per the rules (on production of proof).
4. At present the place of posting is as indicated in the advertisement. However, the same is
liable to be transferred anywhere in India under NRCB /ICAR.
5. The appointment under Indian Council of Agricultural Research will be governed by New
Pension Scheme introduced by the Govt. of India w.e.f. 01.04.2004 mutatis mutandis and as
amended, clarified or modified from time to time.
6. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of
selection / test / interview / appointment. Canvassing in any form will be treated as
disqualification.
7. Applications received after the due date for whatsoever the reason including postal delays
will not be entertained.
8. Mere fulfilling of the essential qualification does not entitle the candidates to be called for
written test. The Director, NRCB reserves the right to short list the candidates for test /
interview, depending on the number of applications received.
9. The Director, NRCB reserves the right to till up the post without assigning any reason
thereof.
