Applications in the prescribed form are invited for the following Posts under the
 Coir Board.

1. Assistant Director (Training) (Pay Band Rs.9300-34800 + 4600 (Grade Pay). One
 Post (Unreserved). Age: Not exceeding 35 years as on 16.08.2010 (The crucial date for
 determining the age limit shall be closing date for receipt of application from candidates
 in India. In the case of candidates from Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Prradesh,
 Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti
 district and Pangi sub-division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, A&N Island and
 Lakshadweep, the age will be reckoned as on 23.08.2010)
Qualifications: Essential: Educational: Graduate in Science with Diploma in advanced
 Coir Technology and three years practical experience*
 * (Note: Qualification are relaxable at the discretion of the appointing authority in case of
 candidates otherwise well qualified)

2. Showroom Manager Gr.III (pay Band Rs.9300-34800 + 4200 (Grade Pay): 2 Post
 (Unreserved) Age: Not exceeding 35 years as on 16.08.2010 The crucial date for
 determining the age limit shall be closing date for receipt of application from candidates
 in India. In the case of candidates from Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Prradesh,
 Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti
 district and Pangi sub-division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, A&N Island and
 Lakshadweep, the age will be reckoned as on 23.08.2010)
Qualifications: Essential: Educational: Degree of a recognized University or
 equivalent with 2 years experience in Marketing of consumer products.

3. Salesman (Pay Band Rs.5200-20200 + 1900 (Grade Pay): 13 Posts (UR-10, OBC-2,
 ST -1)
Age: Not exceeding 30 years as on 16.08.2010 At present the vacancies are in the Coir
 Bhavans of the Board at Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bhubaneswar, Bangalore, Hyderabad,
 Jammu Tawi, Kanpur, New Delhi, Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati, Ranchi &
 Palakkad. The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be closing date for receipt
 of application from candidates in India. In the case of candidates from Assam,
 Meghalaya, Arunachal Prradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, sikkim, Jammu
 & Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti district and Pangi sub-division of Chamba district of
 Himachal Pradesh, A&N Island and Lakshadweep, the age will be reckoned as on
23.08.2010)
Qualifications: Essential: Educational: SSLC or equivalent having knowledge of Book
 Keeping and Accountancy. 30 w.p.m.in typewriting essential.

4. Hamal Cum Stitcher: (Pay Band Rs.5200-20200 + 1800 (Grade Pay): 6 Posts (UR-
 5, OBC-1) Age: Not exceeding 35 years as on 16.08.2010. At present the vacancies are
 in the Coir Bhavans of the Board at New Delhi, Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram,
 Palakkad, Visakhapatanam & Kolkata. The crucial date for determining the age limit
 shall be closing date for receipt of application from candidates in India. In the case of
 candidates from Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Prradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland,
 Tripura, sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti district and Pangi sub-division of
 Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, A&N Island and Lakshadweep, the age will be
 reckoned as on 23.08.2010)
Qualifications: Essential: Educational: A pass in middle school standard and two years
 experience in stitching and work connected with the sale of coir and coir goods.

NOTE:
** The age limit shown against the above post is normal age limit. The age limit is
 relaxable for SC/ST candidates upto 5 years and upto 3 years for OBC candidates.
 ** Application Fee: The application fee for the Post at Sl.No.1 and 2 will be Rs.100/-
 and that at Sl.No.3 and 4 will be Rs.50/-. No fee is payable by SC/ST/PH
 candidates. The fee is to be remitted in the form of Demand Draft only drawn on
 any Bank, payable at Ernakulam in favour of Secretary, Coir Board, Ernakulam,
 Kochi-16.
 ** "Mode of Selection" : The Selection will be on the basis of a written
 examination and interview in the case of posts against Sl.No. 1, 2 and 3.
 (Assistant Director(Training), Showroom Manager Gr-III, Salesman). In the case
 of post against Sl.No.4 (Hamal-cum-Stitcher) the selection will be made on the
 basis of a practical test in stitching and finishing of coir products followed by
 interview. The selected candidates will be posted initially at the respective places
 of vacancies and they are liable to be transferred to anywhere in India where the
 Boards Offices exist.

 ** The applicants from SC/ST Category should enclose attested copy of a certificate
 in the prescribed form from the competent authority to the effect that he/she
 belongs to the SC/ST category. The applicants of OBC should enclose attested
 copy of a certificate in the prescribed form from the competent authority that
 he/she belongs to the OBC and doesn't belong to the Creamy Layer.

 rejected.
