Engagement of Superannuated Officer at HAL AURDC Division on contract basis as
Consultant (Central Laboratory )

No of post : One
Qualification : Degree in Engineering in any discipline from the recognized University /Institution or its
equivalent.
Experience : The candidate should possess 20 years or more of experience in X-ray, NTD,
Metallography, Ultrasonic testing and Mechanical Testing etc..
Age : Should not be beyond the age of 62 years as on 01.06.2010
Period of engagement : one year

Job Specifications of Consultant (Central Lab) : The incumbent will be responsible for:
I. Carrying out Metallurgical analysis of Ferrous and non-ferrous materials, and their
heat treatment, and certifying the analysis.
II. Implementing Non Destructive Test methods like X-ray testing, Ultrasonic testing
and certifying thereafter.
III. Defect investigation of service failure of aircraft components and to make
recommendations in order to prevent occurrences of repeated failures.
IV. Evaluation and certification of Aircraft metallic materials including failure
investigation.
V. Responsible for Indigenization of metallic materials and taking RCMA approvals.
VI. To formulate various test specifications and test procedures for Ferrous and non
ferrous materials
VII. To support in solving the problems in process shops and design.
VIII. To liaise with internal, external departments and originations like IAF, RCMA,
DGAQA
IX. To associate in COI effectively and finalize the results
X. To train officers working in central Lab to look after the functions of Metallography,
mechanical and X-ray NDT independently.

The incumbent should have a thorough knowledge of :
a) Procedures for indigenization of materials, RCMA approvals, Life extension of Aircraft
components,
a) SO 9001 and ISO 14001 procedure and implementation.
b) National and International Standards of testing used in Aerospace Industry.
c) Should have knowledge and experience in modern methods of testing using latest
computer assisted machines and their regular maintenance and calibration.
d) Should have executive capacity to manage, nurture and guide a group of people for
better productivity utilizing existing resources.

General Instructions :
· Superannuated officers from HAL as well as other organizations are eligible to apply provided
they meet the eligibility criteria.
· The initial contract period shall be for 12 months.
· Selected candidates will be paid consolidated remuneration payment per month based on last
drawn Basic Pay, DA and other allowances after mutual discussion.
· Based on the experience and qualification, only short listed candidates will be called for
interview.
