The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali, established by the
Government of India (MHRD) in 2007 to carry out research in frontier areas of science and to
provide quality science education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, intends to fill
up the following vacancies:-

1 Registrar 1 Post
2 Deputy Librarian 1 Post
3 Assistant Engineer (Electrical )1 Post
4 Office Assistant ( Multi- skill ) 1 Post

Application form downloadable from the website should be filled and submitted along with a
recent passport-size photograph and names of at least three referees (only in case of Group A
Posts) to the Director, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali, MGSIPAP
Complex, Sector 26, Chandigarh – 160019 by 30.08.2010 - 5 P.M. (IST) positively along with a
Bank Draft for Rs.100/- as application fee in case of General/OBC candidates in favour of
Registrar, IISER Mohali payable at Chandigarh. PD candidates are however, exempted from
payment of application fee. Reservation for PD candidates as per Government of India rules
will apply.

Details of the posts and qualifications and other requirements (available on website)
1. Registrar – 37400-66000 +10000 (Grade Pay)
Minimum Qualification:
1. A Masters degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade.
2. At least 15 years of experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs. 7000 and
above or with 8 years of service in the AGP of Rs. 8000 and above including as
Associate Professor along with experience in educational administration
OR
Comparable experience in research establishments and/or other institutions of
higher education
OR
15 years of administrative experience of which 8 years as Deputy Registrar or an
equivalent post (in Grade Pay Rs.7600)
Desirable :-Considerable experience in administration, financial and personnel
management, and ability to lead in an academic institution/University.
2. Deputy Librarian – 15600-39100+8000 (A.G.P.)
1. Master's degree in Library Science/ Information Science/ Documentation with at
least 55% marks or its equivalent grade and consistently good academic record.
2. 5 years experience as an Assistant Librarian in an University/ College/IIT etc.
3. Evidence of innovative library service and organization, published work and
professional commitment, computerization of Library
4. Desirable: an M.Phil / Ph. D. degree in Library Science/ Information science /
Documentation / Archives and manuscript-keeping/computerization of Library
3. Assistant Engineer (Electrical) – 9300-34800 + Rs. 4600 (Grade Pay)
(Minimum pay Rs. 12540 + GP 4600)
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (preferably with First
Class) and three years relevant experience preferably in the field of building
electrical installations, sub station erection/power distribution in a large campus.
Experience in Maintenance of Elect. Works as per CPWD/ PSEB norms will be
considered additional qualification.
4. Office Assistant ( Multi- skill ) - 5200-20200 + Rs.2800 (Grade Pay)
Bachelor's degree + 2 years relevant experience & knowledge of computer
application.
General Information:-
1. The candidate must be a citizen of India
2. Relaxation of age limit for SC/ST/OBC persons will be as per Govt. of India Rules.
3. There is no age limit in case of Group A Posts. (Sl. No.1 & 2)
4. Maximum age limit for appointment by transfer on deputation shall not exceed 56 years
as on the closing date for receipt of applications in case of Group A Posts.
5. Reservation for ST/SC/OBC/PD/Ex-Servicemen as per Central Govt. Rules.
6. Persons employed in Govt./Semi Govt. Organizations/Autonomous Bodies should
submit their applications through proper channel.
7. Degrees as referred above are those which have been awarded by a recognized
University/Institution.
8. Mere fulfillment of the minimum qualification will not vest any right on a candidate for
being called for written test/interview.
9. The Institute reserves the right to shortlist the candidates for written test/skill
test/interview based on qualification and experience and the number of applications
received.
