Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), is the largest establishment under the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space. VSSC is engaged in the development of Sounding Rockets, Launch Vehicles, Space Craft Subsystems and other Space related fundamental research activities. VSSC is the lead Centre for carrying out all the major Launch Vehicle Projects of ISRO such as PSLV, GSLV, GSLV MkIII, Re-usable Launch Vehicle (RLV), Space Capsule Recovery Experiment (SRE) and advanced missions such as Inter Planetary Missions, Manned Mission and First Indian Moon Mission (Chandrayan-1) etc. The multi-disciplinary responsibilities entrusted with VSSC offer challenging career opportunities to bright and result-oriented Graduates in Engineering/Science, who are capable of executing time-bound, state-of-the-art tasks of national importance in various positions. Note:
1. M.E/M.Tech or equivalent qualification should be in First Class with minimum of 60% marks or CGPA/CPI grading of a minimum of 6.5 on a 10 scale or equivalent.

2. B.E/B.Tech or Equivalent qualification should be in First Class with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks.

3. Rounding-off of marks not allowed

4. One vacancy in Post No.1155 is reserved for Persons With Disabilities (Hearing Handicapped Persons).

5. The number of vacancies indicated above are provisional and may be varied depending on the actual requirement.

General Conditions/Instructions:

35 years as on 23.07.2010, 38 years for OBC and 40 years in the case of SC/ST candidates. Ex-Servicemen & Persons With Disability (PWD) are eligible for age relaxation as per Govrnment rules.

Note: Children/family members of those who died in the riots of 1984 will be given preference in recruitment by giving necessary age relaxation as applicable. [*]As on date, approximate salary in the Pay Band of Rs.15,600-39,100/- (PB-3) + Grade Pay Rs.5,400/- is Rs.32,550/- per month[/LIST]

The Centre has a well-maintained Central School and a well-stocked Library that provides an excellent opportunity for professional development.[*]At present the place of posting is VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram, but the selected candidates are liable to be posted in any of the Centres/Units of the Indian Space Research Organisation/Department of Space situated anywhere in India as and when required.[*]Candidates will have to produce proof of the details furnished in their applications submitted on-line as and when required.[/LIST]

Candidates called for Written Test/interview will have the option to answer the questions in Hindi also.[*]Outstation candidates called for Interview will be paid to and fro Second Class Railway Fare by the shortest route including reservation/sleeper charges on production of proof of journey such as Railway Tickets/Ticket Number or Bus tickets, etc. If the candidates travel in a higher class of accommodation than the one prescribed, only Second Class rail fare excluding the reservation charges/sleeper charges will be paid. HOW TO APPLY
Upon on-line registration, applicants will be provided with an on-line Registration Number, which should be carefully preserved for future reference. After submission, it is mandatory for the applicant to send the printed application form (confirmatory copy of the application) along with the following documents by speed post without which online application will not be considered.
1. Attested copies of all testimonials in proof of educational qualifications, caste, experience etc.
2. A ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the employer concerned in respect of those applicants who are employed under Central/State Government/Public Sector Undertakings/ Autonomous Bodies.
The above documents should reach within seven days of registering the application and in any case not later than 30.07.2010.


Guidelines To Fill The Online Application
STEP 1:REGISTRATION
You would require your e-mail ID to register. You can register only once using this e-mail ID.
Click on the link "Apply Now". Fill all the fields and click on the 'SUBMIT' button. On successful registration, you will receive an e-mail with following details:

Then click on the link given in the e-mail to open your online application form. Check your SPAM/BULK MAIL folders if the mail is not seen in the INBOX.
STEP 2:APPLICATION
Fill in all the information correctly and "SUBMIT". On Submission, you will have an opportunity to preview and confirm. Read all the details carefully. If any change is required, Click on "GO BACK".
To finally submit your application, click on "CONFIRM" button. On successful application, your registration number will be displayed on screen and an e-mail will be sent to you. Note down your Registration Number and keep in a safe place. This would be required for checking the status of your application in future.
STEP 3: Print the APPLICATION
This step is required to send your application summary by post.
Click on the "PRINT APPLICATION SUMMARY FORM" button. Take two print-outs of the form.
OBC candidates may please refer to the declaration form Declaration form to be attached along with Application.
STEP 4:SEND SUMMARY FORM BY SPEED POST
This step is mandatory to complete the application procedure. Without this, your application will not be considered.

Project Details : FPGA BASED IP CORE IMPLEMENTED FOR CRC-32
Traditionally, Processor based block of transmitter is used for streaming of data packets across the network , which end up in transmitting the packets with little more delay. In order to overcome this delay, FPGA based blocks has been introduced, these FPGA based blocks, which are based on the IP core , replaced the processor blocks. In FPGA, the CRC 32 block is introduced which will detect the transmission errors and further enhances the speed of transmission of data packets across wireless network.
The cyclic redundancy check, or CRC, is a technique for detecting errors in digital data, but not for making corrections when errors are detected. It is used primarily in data transmission. In the CRC method, a certain number of check bits, often called a checksum, are appended to the message being transmitted. The receiver can determine whether or not the check bits agree with the data, to ascertain with a certain degree of probability whether or not an error occurred in transmission. If an error occurred, the receiver sends a “negative acknowledgement” (NAK) back to the sender, requesting that the message be retransmitted
