Note : 1. Other Backward Communities and SC/ST candidates are eligible for usual age
relaxation.
2. The upper age limit is raised by 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to Other
Christians ie adult members of Scheduled Caste converted to Christian religion and their
children belonging to OX

3. Subclasses 5,8,9,10,11,13 of Para 2 of general conditions are not applicable for the post in
Municipal Common Service.
4. Personnel working in various departments of Government and acquired MBBS qualification
while in service will be given exemption from upper age limit to the extent necessary for direct
recruitment. The maximum age limit shall in no case exceed 50 years. [For Assistant Surgeon
only]
5. Scale of pay : Rs.11910-19350/-
6. Method of appointment : Direct Recruitment.
7. Qualification :
1. Degree in Modern Medicine or equivalent qualification.
2. Permanent Registration under Travancore Cochin Medical Council.
Note : 1. Separate ranked lists will be published for the three Departments mentioned
above. The applicants will be included in those lists based on the qualification prescribed in
the Special Rules of the respective Departments. The lists of selected candidates published
by the Commission in response to this notification shall remain in force for a minimum
period of one year provided that the said list will continue to be in force till the publication
of a new list after the expiry of the minimum period of one year or till the expiry of three
years whichever is earlier. Candidates will be advised from the said list against the vacancy
noted above and the vacancies that may be reported to the Commission in writing during
the currency of the list.
2. An OMR test based on the qualification prescribed for the post will be conducted on
25.9.2010 at the centers at Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode.
The Admission Ticket shall be down loaded from the website www.keralapsc.org from
10.09.2010, using the Bar code Number obtained at the time of applying for the post.
3. Persons who have registered themselves with other State /Central Medical Council may
also apply but they will have to get themselves registered under Travancore Cochin Medical
Practitioners Act before join duty.
4. Those who were appointed in the post should serve for four(4) years during the first ten
years of their service (including the period of training) anywhere in India or any Foreign
Country under defence service or services connected with defence. Those who have
completed 45 years of age are exempted from the above compulsory Military Service. [This
condition is not applicable for those who got appointment in Municipal Common Services].
5. For persons who were in defence service, the first one year of their service will be
treated as House Surgency.

8. Mode of submitting Application :The applications should be submitted only through on line
facility provided in the website of the Kerala Public Service Commission. Detailed instruction
regarding the submission of applications are available in the Website of the Kerala Public
Service Commission viz www.keralapsc.org. No application fee is required. The barcode
number in the application form shall be quoted in all further enquiries/correspondence.
Documents to prove qualification, age and community have to be produced as and when
called for. Applications which are submitted not in accordance with the instructions given in
the website will be summarily rejected. The Admission Ticket should be down loaded from
the website.
