Job Summary :
As a Network Security Engineer you are part of a team that is responsible for ensuring the security of NetApp's network systems and the overall security posture of the company. The department is responsible for maintaining security systems, administering security policies, investigating and recommending security technologies and performing security investigations. In your role, your primary function is to lead technical escalations within the team.

Essential Functions :
- As a Network Security Engineer 3 you will :
- Proactively monitor incoming alerts.
- Troubleshoot and take escalations from other team members that fall in your particular technical area.
- Proactive care and maintenance, change control and device tuning.
- Create documentation.
- Provide mentorship and training of other associates at the same level or below on processes and tools.
- Provide customers and management with RCA and project feedback.
- Ensure data quality for periodic data cleaning efforts.
- Recommend process improvements and educational programs/trainings.
- Provide technology solutions input and recommendations to address technology issues.
- Manage small operational delivery projects.
- Recommend operations process changes to increase efficiencies; and update operational systems.

Job Requirements :
- Experience with Security Operations functions such as event monitoring, assessments, investigations, and incident response.
- Demonstrated proficiency with security technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, DLP, Vulnerability Management and Forensics.
- Administrative experience in multiple operating systems such as Linux , Windows, Solaris, BSD, etc.
- Understanding of web server technologies such as Apache and IIS.
- Solid scripting ability in Shell, PERL, VB or other similar languages.
- Understanding of compliance and certification programs such as SOX and ISO27001.
- Strong understanding of documentation procedures for systems, changes and desk level procedures.
- Demonstrated technical writing skills for documentation and process.
- Ability to follow documented daily procedures and policies; monitoring tools and response guidelines, escalation and notification processes; and Trouble/Ticket management processes and guidelines.
- Aptitude for troubleshooting and resolving issues even in unfamiliar environments.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members as well as other parts of the organization; ability to work independently as well.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently with competing deadlines.

Responsibility :
- The tasks this individual is responsible for are often non-routine and unstructured, requiring creative solutions.
- This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving routine to moderately complex problems.

Interaction :
- This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within the function, and the technical team on assigned projects. There may be communication with employees in other functions as required.
- Limited management direction is provided to employee on new projects or assignments as well as review of activities and priorities.
- The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert on team projects.
- To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through coaching and influencing others.
Education & Experience :
- A minimum of 5 years of experience is required; 6 to 8 years of experience is preferred.
- A Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics or CS is required; Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, moderately complex technical tasks.
