Job Summary :
NetApp has a challenging and exciting opportunity for you to be a senior technical resource and solution expert for our storage solutions and service offerings. As a Technical Architect, you will be responsible for the design of reference architectures, the design and scope of professional services, and will oversee professional services solutions development. To do this you must have a broad understanding of the storage industry (specifically storage & data management/automation) and the technical skills to design, architect and develop a successful storage management solutions. Additionally, you will ensure the overall quality of the system architecture, implementation, testing and deployment procedures. This includes ensuring that the solution design and delivery meet our enterprise customer's business requirements. You will also mentor other team members and be the focal point for technical expertise. You will operate independently with only high level direction. In this position you will be working at times directly with customers and account teams to develop high value consulting services. The ideal candidate will have a strong operational background, or Professional Services (PS) experience assessing, integrating, implementing and managing NetApp storage solutions.

This position reports into NetApp’s Technology Enablement & Solutions Organization (TESO). As a member of this critical organization you will be focusing on expanding the Professional Services solutions for NetApp’s Dynamic Data Center Solution (NDDCS) and other enterprise offerings. NDDCS is NetApp’s ITaaS / Cloud offering which maximizes data center efficiency for customers to scale and consume storage with minimum overhead. This solution offers optimized resource utilization, to accelerate our customer’s time to market, and reduce their operational risk.

Job Requirements :
** Design and architect Professional Services (PS) storage solutions based on customer, Professional Services, Sales and Marketing requirements.
** Model and test the solutions in our labs.
** Be the main contact for technical expertise for our service solutions.
** Perform technical feasibility studies of a requirement/feature or solution.
** Provide guidance to the cross functional team for the entire product life cycle.
** Oversee development of the PS solution, write whitepapers, develop and deliver TOIs as needed.
** Be able to focus and work on multiple projects.
** Be the liaison between engineering, marketing, sales, system engineers and the global professional services organizations.
** Participate as a lead within a technical community.
** Evangelize and promote the professional services delivery methodology as an enabler for NetApp’s success in our targeted enterprise accounts.

Requirements :
** Experience in an enterprise data center as an administrator, integrator or architect.
** Professional Services or Systems Engineering experience in a “consulting” role.
** NetApp storage controller administration, architecture and/or integration experience.
** Background in consulting or professional services specifically for enterprise storage solutions.
** Experience with NetApp products & technology (e.g. OnTap, SnapManager, SnapDrive, Operations Manager, Provisioning Manager or Protection Manager Software)
** Experience with SAN, NAS, or DAS storage infrastructures.
** Consulting experience with UNIX / Windows required.
** Familiarity with virtualized server environments such as VMWare, Citrix Xen and MS Hyper-V is desirable.
** Experience with storage software products for backup, replication, and clustering from Veritas or other storage vendors a plus.
** Experience with fabric switching solutions (Brocade, McData, Qlogic or Cisco MDS), SCSI-fiber bridges, and other production data center a plus.
** Experience with automation and scripting with APIs, SDKs and SNMP a plus.
** Experience in the following programming languages is advantageous (C#, C, C++, Visual Basic, Java, Javascript, Perl, Active Perl, CGI, regular expressions HTML).
** ITIL Foundation certification or greater a plus.
** Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must.
** Work collaboratively with a global team.
** International Travel up to 15%.

Education and Experience :
BS in a technical discipline, ideally in computer science, MS a plus – 10+ years industry experience (5+ in a storage discipline)
