Job Summary :
Sr.Engineer, specializing in operating systems and file system architectures, who will develop embedded kernel software that runs on our storage appliances.

Essential Functions :
Be a thought leader.
Work as a member/lead of a team on projects involving existing as well as new storage appliances.
Participate in any/all phases of a product development cycle : from product definition and design, through implementation, debugging, unit testing and early customer support.
Participate in technical communication other parts of Network Appliance including product management, customer support and sales.
Work collaboratively with other engineers, and be willing to take on any engineering tasks that contribute to the progress towards the goals of the team and the company.

Job Requirements :
This position requires in-depth knowledge of operating system internals in general. Proficiency in C and excellent debugging skills are required. Must have full commitment to sound software engineering practices and a passion for quality. Must have a proven record of leadership and meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality. Strong communication skills are essential, both written and oral, targeted at a wide variety of internal and external audiences.
As a senior member in the team the person will be required to act as a mentor to an individual or group of highly motivated, technically brilliant engineers with varying experience level. The person should be competent enough to lead a project in technical capacity.

Education & Experience :
Minimum BE/B-Tech/BS CS/CE (M-Tech,MS, PhD. CS/CE preferred ) with several years of development experience in the operating systems domain.The minimum years of experience for this position is 10+ yrs.
