JOB DESCRIPTION : BUYER

JOB OBJECTIVES :
1 Commit Orders on a timely basis
2 Ensure that all documentation is approved during purchasing process.
3 Be aware of project approved budgets for items being purchased and target achieving these budgets as a minimum.
4 Assist in expediting materials to site if required.
5 Ensure that all major orders for Projects are based on project approved payment terms.
6 Assist in the preparation of the project procurement plan.
7 Ensure full commitment to the implementation of the IMS Procedures.
8 Prepare, issue and expedite inquiry packages.
9 Review vendor bids and prepare commercial bid tabulations.
10 Assist in the disposal of excess materials from the project.
11 Liaise with vendors in resolving disputed deliveries.

ESSENTIAL WORK ACTIVITIES :

** Collecting information PR / Developing relationships
** Checking ** Analysing / Integrating / Interpreting

EDUCATION SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :
** Have technical knowledge of site requirements – consumable equipment.
** Must be computer literate.
** Must be numerically proficient.
** 3 years minimum experience

Desirable :
** Preferably procurement Diploma / Certificate
