Responsibilities:
Primary job duties will be working with the Database Administration & Operations team on maintenance and administration of the live production Oracle Server instances as well as support of R&D databases across Akamai Technologies. Support and deployment of Oracle's Enterprise Business Suite (EBS) for versions 11 and R12 will be necessary. Participation in the 24x7 on-call rotation is required. Expectation to troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner; as well as plan, implement and maintain security at the database level. Oracle EBS support will include installations, upgrades, patching, cloning, and troubleshootings.

Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in a computer science or related field
• Overall Experience: 5-7 years or equivalent experience
• Working knowledge of Oracle EBS and various components, as well as system and user administration, print functional support, security, etc.
• Expert understanding of the Oracle architecture, administration and security.
• Understanding of UNIX/Linux Server operating systems.
• Solid grasp of advanced SQL query techniques in addition to performance implications
• Expertise with configuring, implementing and supporting highly available Oracle instances.
• Experience with Stored Procedures and SQL Coding.
• Expert in query, index and Database IO performance tuning.
• Expert understanding of Database design principals.
• Understand the concepts of current hardware systems, RAID and SAN commonly used in fault tolerant production environments.
• Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve live database systems issues.
• Ability to manage all database maintenance plan activities including backups, indexing, integrity and consistency checks, etc
• Experience supporting standard reporting tools.
