Overview :
The Saudi Arabian Mining Company, Ma’aden is engaged in the development of two world scale projects in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the operation and expansion of its mining business in gold, base metals and industrial minerals. The next five years will see the company develop world scale mines and industrial facilities across the Kingdom representing the largest industrial diversification since the development of the Saudi petrochemical industry.

The first of the company’s mega projects mentioned above is the world’s largest integrated phosphate fertilizer project; mining the raw material at Al Jalamid in the Northern Province and transporting it to the new minerals industry complex at Ras Az Zawr for processing and export. The project, due for completion in 2010 will produce 2.92 million tons per year of DAP when at full capacity.

The second mega-project will be the largest, vertically integrated mine-to-metal operation of its type in the world and is a joint venture with Alcoa. Bauxite reserves will be mined at Al Ba’aitha in the Central Province and then transported also via the new Saudi Arabian Railway to Ras Az Zawr for refining and smelting. The project also includes the development of a rolling mill at Ras Az Zawr.

Ma’aden currently operates five gold mines in the Central and Western Provinces and plans to expand that number in the near future. It currently has over 10 million ounces of gold reserves including those in the Central Arabian Gold Region and extensive interests in exploration for precious and base metals and industrial minerals.

Ma’aden’s headquarters are in Riyadh and the company also has offices in Al-Khobar and Jubail in the Eastern Province and Jeddah on the west coast of Saudi Arabia.

Responsible and work with team as "Mechanical Engineer" for the project

Perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment to be installed and or used in/on the plant or project. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of such equipment as centralized heat, gas, water, and steam systems.

provide efficient solutions to the development of processes and products, ranging from small component designs to extremely large plant, machinery or vehicles. They can work on all stages of a product, from research and development to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning.

Responsibilities :
Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

Designs and implements cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability and throughput.

Develops the project specification with colleagues, often which will include those from other engineering disciplines.

Gets Information and from various sources as to ibtain relevancy for sertain gugements -- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.

Does the appropriate project mechanical evaluations to Determine Compliance with Standards using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards as well as with the original project planned.

Develops with other engineering disciplines, the testing and evaluating theoretical designs, discussing and solving complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers and assures a product that are again reliably and will perform consistently in specified operating environment.

Plans and designs new production processes;

Produces details of specifications and outline designs;

Recommends modifications following prototype test results.

Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.

Makes sure a product can be made again reliably and will perform consistently in specified operating environments.

Liaises with other project partners to achieve integrated planning across the whole program.

Develops technical and management reports which detail project related performance and contribution in terms of mechanical activities to highlight risks to the project and plans to minimize their impact.

Qualifications :
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other related discipline.

Minimum of 6 years experience in related field.

Numerical skills

Good in speaking, reading and writing of English

Very good statistical application and mathematical abilities.

Knowledge to read and use project control tools (Primavera, MS project, Icarso etc,).
