The following equipments & vehicles were under 'Break-Down' condition for want of major repairs prior to my joining the company.
- Dynapac single drum roller
The OM 356 engines fitted to roller was found to have seized and the main line bore, crankshaft journals,
Pistons & connecting rods were damaged. Dynapac Sweden had given options to fit 3 types of engines on the subject equipment.
OM 356 Mercedes engine
6FL 912 Deutz engine
CAT 3208 engine.
70 KVA generating set was fitted with 6FL 912 Deutz engines which were lying idle due to burnt stator coil.
The fuel injection pump of the engine was calibrated and set to maximum rpm. After few modifications in the bell housing and hydraulic cooler connections, the dynapac single drum vibrating roller were put on road condition.
GD - 605 Komatsu Grader
The above grader was brought to our site under "Break Down' condition. Previously the parts had been
Cannibalized and fitted on other graders. Defect investigation was carried out on the hydraulic system; circle drive gear teeth, pinion and the defects were rectified.
Tata Mercedes Tippers:
Carried out extensive repairs to make the tippers roadworthy.
Consultant Mechanical Engineer 1992- 1994
Provided consultancy services for repairs heavy equipment & heavy vehicles. Worked as Surveyor/Loss assessor for accident vehicles accredited by the Government of India.
Extended support for identification of spare parts for CAT 3306 engines, 6FL 912 Deutz engines, and N743
Cummins engines and rebuilding the same. Investigated the accident vehicles, prepared reports and forwarded to various insurance companies for settlement of claims.

- Established a new workshop facility for repair, maintenance of plant, machinery, vehicles, fabrication, denting and painting, A.C & R equipment.
- Reconditioned the scrapped CAT motor graders, bed ford dumpers and Land rover station wagons by carrying out extensive repairs.
- Reclaimed and salvaged the components fitted to major assemblies and organized their spare parts.
- Prevented premature failure of under carriage component fitted on CAT D9L Dozer:
- Originally the equipment was supplied with 26-inch track shoes earmarked for U.A.E, which failed prematurely along with idler wheels and other under carriage components. These track shoes are suitable for 'sandy terrain' and not for 'rocky terrain'. I carried out the defect investigation and interfaced with Caterpillar U.S.A for replacing the failed under carriage components under warranty.
