    NHPC Limited, a Govt. of India Schedule ‘A’ Mini Ratna Enterprise, was incorporated in the
    year 1975 with an objective to plan, promote and organize an integrated and efficient
    development of Hydro Power in India & abroad. NHPC is ranked as a premier organization
    in the country for development of hydropower.

    NHPC is among the TOP TEN companies in the country in terms of investment with an
    authorized share capital of Rs. 1,50,000 Million and an investment base of over
    Rs. 3,87,179 Million approx. NHPC is a listed Company on NSE & BSE after successfully
    conducting its IPO on 1st September 2009. The Company has an Investors base of 12 Lacs
    approx. NHPC is the pioneer in the field of Hydro Power development, powered by
    multidisciplinary team of professionals with expertise from concept to commission, operation
    and maintenance of hydro power stations. NHPC invites applications from competent
    professionals for the post of COMPANY SECRETARY (General Manager level) (E-8).

    a. Pay Scale: Rs 20,500-26,500 (IDA) [ Due for revision w.e.f 01.01.2007]
    Compensation in CTC terms is one of the best amongst PSUs. Apart from Basic Pay
    and Dearness Allowance candidates will be eligible for Accommodation/HRA/Leased
    accommodation, Conveyance facility/ Conveyance reimbursement, LTC, Leave
    encashment, Gratuity, EPF, Group Insurance, Employee Pension, Medical
    Reimbursement, Composite Social Security Scheme, Children Education Expenditure,
    News paper/Magazine Allowance, Soft Loans and Special Compensatory Allowances as
    applicable. The present CTC works out to be approx. Rs. 16.60/- lac p.a. which is likely
    to go up to Rs. 22.60/- lac p.a. after proposed pay revision.

    b. Job profile:
    The candidate should have expert knowledge of Company Laws and various other
    Legislations, guidelines provided by statutory bodies and corporate governance aspects.
    However, the job briefly involves:
    • Handling functions related to Board/shareholder meetings.
    • Compliance with Company Law and other statutory requirements.
    • Compliance with SEBI guidelines & Stock Exchange.
    • Compliance of Corporate Governance guidelines of DPE & SEBI.
    • Preparing Statutory Forms / Returns to be filed with the Registrar of Companies.
    • Pre & Post IPO, oversee & ensure the monitoring of the Share Registration &
    Dematerialization & ensure timely disbursement of Dividends & communication with
    the Share Holders.
    • Other related Company Secretarial works.

    c. Qualification-
    • Essential: - Membership of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India with Degree
    in Law.
    • Desirable: - Membership ICAI or ICWA shall be an added qualification.

    d. Experience:
    • Must be working in a Listed Company having paid up Equity of more than Rs.500
    Crore and turnover of more than Rs.2000 Crore.
    • Minimum 20 years post qualification experience in Company Secretarial functions,
    out of which at least 5 years as Company Secretary at senior level in a company
    having multi-units / Plants as well as subsidiaries & Joint Venture Company.

    e. Age: Maximum age should not be more than 50 years as on 01.07.2010.

    f. The candidate of PSUs should possess a minimum of 3 years experience in the pay
    scale of Rs.19,500 - 25,600 (IDA)/ Rs. 16400-450-20900 (CDA) (pre-revised)

    g. The Candidates from Pvt. Sector fulfilling the conditions (b), (c), (d) & (e) above can also
    apply subject to the condition that their present CTC should not be less than Rs. 18 lacs.

    SELECTION PROCESS:
    Out of the registration slips received on or before the last date, eligible candidates will have
    to appear for Personal Interview.

    required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 250/- through Demand Draft only in
    favour of “NHPC Limited” payable at Faridabad / New Delhi. No other mode of payment
    would be accepted. Online Registration will be open from 1300 hours of 14th June, 2010 to
    midnight of 4th July, 2010.
    Steps for applying:
    Step-1: Log on to www.nhpcindia.com & click on recruitment.
    Step-2: Read all instructions given on the website.
    Step-3: Fill the On Line Form with relevant details and submit.
    Step-4:Take the print of the format generated by the system in duplicate with Unique
    Registration Number,
    Step-5:Affix passport size photograph on format. The candidate has to send one printout of
    format duly signed & highlight of the CV which candidates like to send, as separate
    sheets attached along with required demand draft & testimonials. The registration
    number, name & applied post should be written at the back of DD. The envelope
    should be super scribed with Post applied for should be sent by ordinary post only to
