2. NATARAJ INDUSTRIES :
Worked as contract Design Engineer for One Year at Nataraj Industries, Hyderabad for highly classified industry. Executed the layout drawings using Auto CAD software, generated the layout drawings for Sub systems, assemblies and stage drawings for the fabrication process as required by the Industry for executing their order commitments. I was also closely associated in the process planning for the realization of the hardware components.
PROJECT CARRIED OUT IN ENGINEERING COURSE IN THIRD YEAR :
Project Title : “DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF PNEUMATIC SHAPING MACHINE”.
Devised I executed the project which uses a completely different idea in the shaper mechanism. This shaping machine uses a pneumatic cylinder instead of the crank and slotted link mechanism. The cutting tool was fixed at the end of the piston rod of the cylinder with the help of tool holder. The direction of reciprocation of the cylinder is controlled by 4/3 manually operated DCV. The compressed air is obtained from the compressor. The work piece is mounted on the table over the vice.
- Advantages of Project :
1. Low operating cost.
2. Moderate surface finish can be achieved.
3. No need of skilled labours and easy to operate.
4. Heavy cylinders can be used for heavy machining.
5. No frictional loss.
- Disadvantages of Project :
1. Compressor produces heavy noises.
2. Only light work pieces can be machined
3. Air leakage leads to power losses.
PROJECT CARRIED OUT IN ENGINEERING COURSE IN FINAL YEAR :
Project Title : “DESIGN AND INSEPECTION OF FIXED CONE ROOF STORAGE TANK FOR STORING FURANCE OIL”.
Devised I executed the project which gives an insight into the design of storage tank for Furnace oil. Storage tanks are constructed to store huge quantities of various petroleum products. Volatile petroleum products are stored in tanks having floating roofs. Volatile product include products with high vapour pressure like High speed Diesel, Motor spirit, Superior kerosene oil, Aviation turbine fuel etc. Cone roof tanks deals with the storage of products like asphalt, vacuum gas oil etc. which are less volatile. This project deals with the design features of a fixed cone roof namely bottom and annular plates, shell plates, wind girder, cooling water system, cone roof and foam system.
The tank is designed according to API 650 (10TH Edition) Standards. Furnace oil comes under Class C category; hence a cone roof type storage tank was selected. The shell of the tank was designed in the most cost effective manner.
The height of the tank is 18m and diameter is 12m. Due to stability problem the height of the tank is restricted. The shell plates were designed according to 1-Foot Method. The wind girders are provided for providing stiffness to the shell. The roof was designed according to API 650 Standards.
The project is carried out in the KOCHI REFINERY (BHARAT PETROLEUM LIMITED) located at Ambalamughal in Kochi.
- Advantages of Project :
1. A volume of 2000kl of furnace oil can be stored
2. Less volatile products can be stored.
3. Fixed cone roofs have truss supports.
- Disadvantages of Project :
High volatile products can’t be stored.

The project titled “ASRS”, Automatic Storage and Retrieval System is associated with a large scale efficient and effective Material Handling System in a data warehouse executed by Computer Controlled Automation Systems.
A Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) controls the movements of an Unmanned Remote Crane and its Storage/Retrieval Handling System.
The Graphical User Interface (GUI) provided on the computer, guides the operator with the various material locations and Crane Position as updated by the PLC. The operator can also provide the Store/Retrieve function inputs through this interface.
