    MINOR THESIS:

    Development of polyherbal preparation for Hepatoprotective action.
    Under the guidance of E. Edwin Jarald and co-supervised by Narendra K. Silawat.

    Objectives of study: To bring out a new polyherbal preparation from already existing cheaper available herbal hepatoprotectives.

    Description: Investigation of pharmacological potential of polyherbal preparation was done in comparison with Standard Silymarin (obtained from silybum marianum on milk thistle) to suggest the efficacy and utility of polyherbal preparation developed.

    MAJOR THESIS:
    Development of polyherbal preparation for hepatoprotective activity on experimental animals.
    Under the guidance of E. Edwin Jarald and co-supervised by Narendra K. Silawat.

    Objectives of study: To prove the hepatoprotective effect of polyherbal preparation with maximum models and in different experimental animals and then to standardize it.

    Description: Development of a polyherbal preparation was done which was proved to be safe with no interactions as in comparison with the standard for hepatoprotective effect as seen through various models of hepatotoxicity and finally was standardized.

    Pharmacogenomics in cancer under the guidance of Shekhar Choudhry and Dr. B.P. Nagori.

    Objectives of study: To prepare out a review work on the understanding and need of pharmacogenomics and also how it is beneficial in cancer treatment.

    Description: Pharmacogenomics or an art of drug tailoring is a way through which optimum dose designing is done so that the drug could be given in the safe and required dose to the patient and which would be then patient specific declining the total cost, money and improving the efficacy of the drug for treatment.

    The prime objective of this project was degradation of pentachlorophenol (PCP) through biotechnological means. The results obtained after the study can be an indication of a biological remedy for the decontamination of polluted environmental sites.
    This project was presented in the 37th Annual Conference of “The Association of Microbiologists of India” held during 4th to 6th December, 1996 in Chennai.
