Company Profile: One of the top three global players in the transmission and distribution of energy. AREVA T&D offers solutions to bring electricity from the source onto the power network. In substations for transmission, automation, circuit breakers, power transformers, substations for distribution, HVDC and primary distribution are others keys.

Project Executed

Title : ERLDC and ULDC EMS, (PGCIL) KOLKATA
Environment : EMS/SCADA Hardware activities & software application uses like Preparing Data base
and Customization of EMS Package as per the customer’s requirements.

Operating System : Windows XP
Role : Commissioning and testing.
Description : Executed the following tasks:

– Implementation of Substation (HV/LV) protection system by using GE Multilin Universal Relays (Numerical Relays) like Distance Protection relays (D60), Transformer Protection (T60),high impedance differential protection relays(MIB) and backup protection relays(F650) .Tested, Commissioned, configured and communicated with third Party equipment of SCADA.
– Configuration of Master station and other networking equipment.
– Initiated supervisory control & data acquisition of whole eastern region generation and transmission grid (400/220/132 kV) and the Power System Functionality (Energy Management System) for smooth operation of the eastern grid. There are 6 Nos. utility State load dispatch centers for constituent like Central Sector(Power Grid),OPTCL(Orissa),WBSETCL(West Bengal),Bihar, Jharkhand Electricity boards and Damodar valley corporation.(DVC) & 5 nos. of Sub Load Dispatch centers situated in different Geographical Locations.
– Successfully completed its different testing phases such as local testing of RTUs, Data validation of different substations, Site Acceptance Test, Global System validation and Availability Tests, Guaranteed Availability period for the period of 1 year for providing 99.99% availability of the whole system).
– Prime responsibility is to commission, configure and integrate the RTUs (Remote Telemetry Units) S900 based on Microprocessor MC68020 for the measurement of various Electrical Parameters then make through to Master Station where several Computations takes place for critical operation. Status signaling of CB and ISO are also part of job.
– preparing database, SLD, both static and dynamic picture representation
– Interacting with Front End Tools like forms (Oracle 6i) and report generation for the future use.
– Recovered the Service in most scenarios including supporting outside normal business hours and providing better background to identify root cause, etc. The process has meant a significant increase in overall system availability.
– Undertook the Design, development, implementation, tuning and administration of Geospatial RDBMS.
