GENERAL REQUIREMENTS :
The candidate shall have a minimum of 10 to 15 years experience in the execution of EPC or turnkey
projects related to the Oil & Gas and/or Power Industry with both design office and site experience.
This is a senior discipline role an d the candidate shall have extensive experience working in the field
of industrial Civil & Structural. The candidate shall have strong communication skills and technical
knowledge to support other discipline engineers within his department in the field of Civil &
Structural.
The candidate shall report directly to the Lead Discipline Civil & Structural Engineer.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS :
** Excellent speaking / writing knowledge of English language.
** Degree in civil & structural engineering.
** Self motivated.
** Middle East experience.
** Computer literacy – good working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word. Be able to produce
reports, specifications, datasheets and schedules etc in a given agreed format.
** Ability to work within a multi -discipline engineering team and to be ab le execute and co-ordinate
inter-discipline engineering checks.
** Must have ability to manage and co -ordinate a small group of designers and CAD operators in
relation to guiding, checking of technical quality and organising work activities to meet projects /
proposals deadlines.
** Good communication skills – be able to communicate proficiently with Clients and Contractors
and Vendors with regards to civil & structural engineering related activities on behalf of Company.
** Ability to execute all works inline with Client and Company HSE and QA policy & procedures.
** Sound understanding of international codes and standards.
** Hands on experience of utilising Staad software package for structural analysis.
** Experience with the development of plant and equipment plot plans, civil & structural GA’s,
sectional drawings and installation details.
** Ability to execute civil foundation design for buildings and industrial equipment.
** Ability to engineer site grading, roads, paving and cable trench systems.
** Ability to engineer rain water and sewage systems civil & structural related details.
** Experience in developing technical procurement specifications for civil subcontract works.
** Ability to carry out technical evaluations / adjudications / vendor document review & approvals of
civil & structural capital and bulk materials.
** Ability to develop civil detailed engineering deliverables related to the Oil & Gas projects.
** Sound appreciation and ability to understand and co -ordinate the engineering & design interfaces
with other disciplines such as process, mechanical & piping, instrumentation & controls, electrical
& power, telecommunications.
** Good experience of site technical support in terms of construction mechanical completion and
technical pre-commissioning support to site construction / c ommissioning teams.

1. The first project involved finding stresses in the pipe ligaments in pressure vessels
2. The project involved the finding of critical buckling loads of thee shroud in the stem generator. The shroud is a wrapper of sort between the u-tubes carrying heavy water and the boundary walls through which de mineralized water flows. The other finding the critical buckling loads for the whole steam generator from which mode shapes are retrieve to find the critical sections in the shroud and steam generator subjected to excess stresses.
