ACADEMIC PROJECT PROFILE :
Project Title : Patient temperature monitoring using I2C protocol
Team Size : 4 members
Description :The main objective of the project entitled Patient Temperature Monitoring Using I2C Protocol is to develop a device which can be placed on a patient to continuously measure and transmit information regarding the body temperature.I2C protocol has been used for temperature measurement and storage. The stored data is displayed on LCD and transmitted to personal computer.
The system consist of Microcontroller, Temperature sensor, Real Time Clock, EEPROM, Display Unit and Personal Computer. The Keil software is used to program microcontroller P89V51RD2.The Microcontroller acts as a bus master which initiates the communication and reads the data from Temperature Sensor DS1621 and Real Time Clock DS1307 using I2C protocol. The temperature data is processed and stored in EEPROM AT24C32 for backup and sent to LCD for display. A buzzer is used to alert the concerned person when the temperature exceeds the set point. The Microcontroller is also interfaced to personal computer via max232 to store the data in EXCEL format, which can be used by doctors for future usage.
Project Title : Autonomous Traffic Light With Remote Monitoring
Team Size : 7 members
Description :This prototype is capable of demonstrating the function of a traffic light at 4 cross junction. The unit is completely autonomous and can handle both peak and regular traffic periods efficiently .The unit switches between the junctions in the classic rotating fashion but simultaneously checking for presence of any vehicle at junction, green signal is switched only if there is any vehicle present in the respective lane. The unit also displays the time left on a seven segment display. The major add-on features are detection of signal jumping and remote indication of the breakage, immediate switching of signals when approached by any emergency vehicles.
