“Co-operative Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio Networks “
Today’s electromagnetic spectrum which is a natural resource itself results in scarcity of spectrum usage. With increasing demand for frequency spectrum and limited resource availability, The FCC decided to make a paradigm shift by allowing more and more number of unlicensed users to transmit their signals in licensed bands so as to efficiently utilize the available spectrum. Cognitive radios are smart radios, which are capable of sensing spectrum occupancy, and, in conformity with the rules of the FCC, opportunistically adapting transmission to utilize empty frequency bands without disrupting other systems.

“ cost effective railway level crossing signal ”
This project “cost effective railway level crossing signal “ is based on the various operation modes of the timer IC 555 and magnetically operated reed switch. Since the road accidents at level crossing have increased a lot this very low cost project can be used to prevent the accidents. A warning signal to the traffic at level crossing which can alert them. Waiting in long queues in traffic hours together before the train has come can also be avoided. Thus this saves times as well as lives.
