Applications are invited from Himachali bonfide eligible candidates in the sealed covers for the following posts on contract basis so as to reach the Chief Conservator of Forests (Soil), Mist Chamber Khalini, Shimla 171002 by 30.4.2010.

The last date for the receipt of applications by post from the candidates residing in Lahaul & Spiti District, Kinnaur District, Pangi & Bharmour Sub-Divisions of Chamba District and Dodra Kawar Sub-Divisions of Chamba District of HP is 15.5.2010. In case of applications received by hand or through courier, the benefit of extended time shall not be available regardless to the place of residence of the applicant. The Forest Department will not be responsible for any postal delay.

Name of Post and Pay :
1.Position : GIS System Analyst
Emoluments : consolidated sum of Rs. 15700/- per month (Rupees fifteen thousand seven hundred only - i.e. Basic:10300 + GP: 5400)
Essential Qualification / Experience :
Graduate in Geography or equivalent with First Division and One year Post Graduate Diploma in Remote Sensing and GIS from recognized Institute / University.
Minimum one year experience in working on a GIS platform in a Government/Private organization

2.Position : Image interpreter
Emoluments : consolidated sum of Rs 14900/- (Rupees fourteen Thousand nine hundred only - i.e. Basic:10300 + GP: 4600) per month
Essential Qualification / Experience :
Graduate in Geography or equivalent with First Division and one year Diploma in Remote Sensing and GIS from recognized Institute / University.
Minimum one year experience in working on image interpretation in a Government/Private organization

3. Position : Draughts man
Emoluments : consolidated sum of Rs .8310/- (Rupees Eight Thousand three hundred and ten only - i.e. Basic:5910+ GP: 2400) per month).
Essential Qualification / Experience :
Diploma in Draughtsman from any recognized Institution or Polytechnic College in HP with First Division and Six months Diploma in computer application from recognized Institute.
Minimum one year experience in working in GIS related Software like Arc GIS or AutoCAD etc in a Government/Private organization

Age Limit : The applicant should be between 18 and 35 years as on 31.3.2010.

Job Assignments :
GIS Analyst :
i) To digitize administrative boundaries of Forest Department in Himachal Pradesh.
ii) To digitize micro watershed boundaries of different catchments in Himachal Pradesh.
iii) To digitize boundaries of Wildlife National Parks and Sanctuaries in Himachal Pradesh.
iv) To develop linkages of the Forestry statistical data with the web maps
v) To handle the GIS & MIS Data related to various Forestry/ Wild Life activities, Working Plan, Management Plan, State & Centrally sponsored Schemes etc.
vi) To assist in up keeping of the data of above fields through web site/FMS/MIS and other system of development.
vii) To impart training and capacity building of filed staff in GIS and related areas.
viii) Any other assignment as given by the Incharge & Manager GIS and appointing authority

Image Interpreter:
i) To assist the GIS Analyst in day to day working in the GIS Lab.
ii) All works relating to the interpretations of the remotely sensed Images etc
iii) Any other assignment as given by the Incharge & Manager GIS and appointing authority.

Draughtsman:
i) Primarily responsible for data entry and Map Digitization in the existing Soft ware.
ii) To prepare the hard copies of the features to be digitized
iii) To visit field for ground truthing and recoding field data.
iv) Any other assignment as given by the Incharge & Manager GIS and appointing authority.

Mode of Selection :
1. Maximum of five candidates will be short listed for the Test/ Interview for each post on the basis of merit in Essential Qualification Equal weight-age will be given to all the Essential Qualifications.
2. Short Listed candidates will be required to appear for the Test/ Interview, the dates of which will be intimated to them latter on
3. Test / Interview for the different posts

How to apply :
1. The candidate must apply on the prescribed application form.
2. No TA/ DA shall be admissible to the candidates for appearing in the Test/ Interview.
3. The candidate should submit the following original certificates at the time of interview :
(a) Matriculation Examination Certificate for verifying the date of birth
(b) Educational Qualification Certificates
(c) Experience Certificate
(d) Character Certificate Issued by the Gazetted Officer/ Public Representative.
(e) Domicile Certificate
(f) Employment Registration Card
4. The application form should be filled in by the candidate in his/her own handwriting.
5. The application should be accompanied with copies of testimonials and one photograph.
6. Incomplete filled application or applications received after due date shall be rejected summarily without assigning any reason.
7. The candidates selected for appointment to the various posts on contract basis will have to execute a contract with the concerned appointing authority as per the provisions and instructions issued by Govt. from time to time.
8. Separate application form should be used for each post and only one application may be sent in one envelop.
9. In service candidates shall be required to produce the N.O.C. from the concerned organization at the time of Test/Interview.
10. The candidates selected for appointment to various posts on Contract basis will have to execute a contract with the appointing authority
