PROJECT DETAILS


Title: Design & fabrication of tack welding fixture for LSV mounting bracket for Avia
Axle D90 & D75 housing.

Company: Carried out at Automotive Axles Limited, Mysore

Description: In this project a fixture has been designed for D - 90 & D – 75 axle housing to carry out tack welding process to mount the LSV (Load Sensitive Valve) bracket on axle housing. LSV is basically a kind of valve, which senses excess load on the rear axle housing. The fixture is necessary to hold & locate the bracket securely during the welding operation. Fixture provides correct position and location of bracket on housing.

Presently welding is done by marking on the housing to weld the LSV bracket on the axle housing, so the productivity is low. If we use a fixture for the above welding process instead of manual marking method, one can improve the productivity; also the repeatability of the product will be improved.



WORKSHOP: Aero Modeling


Brief Summary:
Aero modeling is an event of fabricating and building gliders. We were 5 in the team and made it successfully and flew it in Lallith Mahal Helipad. It was an event conducted in our college a sub event of XTSAE (ANNUAL TECHNICAL FEST).

(a) Organized a new event called “Model Smith Design Challenge”, a sub event of XTSAE 2007.
(b) Organized Car and Bike Expo 2008 with active SAE AT NIE members.
