RECRUITMENT ON REGULAR/CONTRACT BASIS

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) established by Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India is a premier Institute of Fashion Business Education with 15 Centres located at Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Kangra, Kannur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Patna, Rae Bareli, Shillong and Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur (to be opened in 2010). The Institute is having excellent facilities for Fashion Business Education and Research in Design, Management and Technology and is looking for personnel of high caliber and potential for the following Faculty Posts to be filled on regular and contract basis: -

The Faculty positions are in the disciplines of Fashion Design, Fashion Management and Fashion Technology–Apparel, Textiles, Lifestyle Accessories, Communications, Apparel Manufacturing & Information Technology and Management, details of which are given on our website. The academic programmes at NIFT are inter-disciplinary in approach and lay emphasis on experiential learning. Candidates with interdisciplinary orientation and hands on approach will be preferred. Outstanding professional experience and significant contributions in the field would be an added advantage to candidates.

Other allowances as per Central Govt. Rules. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC & PHP is as per GOI Rules. Contractual appointments will be for a period of 03 years. Scheme of Examination :-
The written test for will be based on qualifications requirements in respective competencies. The written test will be followed by Psychometric Test, Presentation and Interview of the shortlisted candidates. The Institute reserves the right to admit only that much candidates as considered necessary for Psychometric Test, Presentation and Interview based on the performance of candidates in the written test.

The last date of receipt of the applications is 30th April, 2010.

Those candidates who are employed in Govt/Semi Govt/Autonomous Bodies etc. should send their applications through Proper Channel. However, they may send an advance copy of their application alongwith Demand Draft and other certificates and testimonials so as to reach this office on or before the scheduled date.

Brief Project Description
Diagnostic study on the paithani saris in yeola , The project was done after Visit and research of their traditional working pattern , also given suggestions to development of various new motifs with different color combination and new design layout. The main focus was on the weave, motifs, colors, looms and market. We developed the contemporized motifs from their traditional motifs and gave suggestion on application of same art in different products apart from saris and made product afterwards.
