Designation : NFS QA Engineer (Virtualization, Automation, Testing, Protocols)

Job Description :
As a QA Engineer you will work as part of a team responsible for debugging NetApp software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for NetApp products. The team also develops, modifies, and executes software test plans; analyzes and writes test standards and procedures; maintains documentation of results; and works closely with development engineers in resolution of problems. As part of the Research and Development function, the overall focus of the group is on competitive market and customer requirements, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market. This position requires and individual who is creative, team-oriented, technology savvy, and driven to produce results.

Essential Functions :
- A major part of your responsibility you will be to work as part of a team responsible for :
- Gathering test requirements
- Developing, implementing and executing test plans
- Test scripts
- Test reports
- Test summaries
- Ability to read and understand software and/or hardware design specifications.
- Participate in design reviews and make recommendations for product improvements.
- You will participate in technical communications within the team and with other groups associated with specified projects.
- A willingness to work on additional tasks and responsibilities that will contribute towards team, department, and company goals.

Requirements :
- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment of other engineers to meet aggressive goals and high quality standards.
- Experience in software test planning, test scripts and documentation.
- Strong aptitude for learning new technologies.
- Familiarity with basic concepts of computer architecture, data structures and standard programming practices.
- Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices.

- Strong knowledge of Networking technologies, in-depth understanding of networking protocols
- Hands-on experience with VMware ESX infrastructure
- Good technical depth in Perl or any automation tool
- Familiarity with Linux and Solaris environments. Resolve basic Linux, Solaris administration issues. Ensure lab readiness before the start of Test cycle
- Has the ability to build, install and configure lab equipment.
- Execute tests, troubleshoot failures, review and reports on results, work with Development and functional QA groups, dispersed geographically, to identify and resolve problems
- This position requires excellent technical ability, debugging skills, experience with Linux/UNIX administration, storage knowledge, and the ability to install and configure lab equipment

Responsibility :
- The tasks this individual is responsible for are often non-routine and unstructured, requiring creative solutions.
- This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving complex problems.

Interaction :
- This individual must work effectively with staff to vice-president levels employees within the function, and the technical team on assigned projects. There may be communication with employees in other functions as required.
- Limited management direction is provided to employee on new projects or assignments; general guidance is provided on new assignments.
- The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert on team projects.
- To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through coaching and influencing others.

Education :
- A minimum of 4 years of experience is required.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, moderately complex technical tasks.
Experience :
- Knowledge of test automation and experience in developing test infrastructure is required with experience in running automation projects
- Experience with Networking Protocols (TCP/IP, etc)
- Experience with Operating Systems Solaris, HPUX, AIX, and Linux. Hands on experience highly desirable.
- Demonstrated skills in QA tools/techniques.
- Programming skills : Perl, Python or any other scripting languages.- Experience in NAS Protocols
- Should be able to lead the team technically

1)Responsible for assembly of Generator i.e Stator and Rotor which includes bearing assembly in main axle and hollow shaft casting and fabrication items incoming and in process inspection and verifying test certificates.
2) Responsible for manufacturing of Permanent magnet rotor by a special process called magnet incoming and in process inspection.
3) Responsible for assembly of Hub & Nacelle casting and fabrication items incoming and in process inspection and verifying reference inspection reports and TCs.
4) Responsible for QAP, assembly protocols preparation and ISO documentation preparations.
COURSES AND VISITS :
I was trained by experts from Vensys (Germany) for bearing assembly & magnet gluing in Regen Powertech manufacturing unit near Tada, Andhra Pradesh.
1) Received Appreciation certificate for Manufacturing of scale down version of permanent magnet generator – 650 W, 240 RPM.
2) Skills for NDT evaluation of RT, MT, PT, & UT.
3) Fabrication works of Vendor quality and in house (manufacturing unit at plant), Machining and VTL Inspections and painting Quality inspections.
4) Review of Quality Assurance Plan & Inspection Test Plan as per various project requirements & ability of preparation of WPS, PQR & WQT as per code specification requirement(ASME Section 1X)
5) Welder Qualification test preparation.
