Digital Design Automation Engineer

Description :
Work as part of the central Design Automation team to be part of development and deployment of state of the art digital design flows to all of Rambus’s world wide design teams. Primary responsibility includes participation in definition, development and support of the chip implementation design flow covering complete RTL2GDS aspects including Timing, Power, SI, Analog/Custom block integration aspects.
Job functions include :
** In-depth understanding of the ASIC design flow including all aspects of implementation of complex digital cores. Specific areas of expertise are : Library Development (Timing and Physical), Synthesis, Auto Placement and Routing, DFT Scan implementation, Clock Tree implementation, Static Timing Analysis, Logic Equivalence Checking, DRC, LVS, DFM, parasitic extraction flows.
** Experience in evaluation of EDA tools, creation of testcases and carrying out automated QoR checking.
** Work closely with the circuit, logic and layout design teams and support usage of flows, environments and tools.
Candidate should have exposure to current nanometer CMOS process technology, ASIC design flow and design methodology challenges.
Requirements :
** Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with at least 3-4 years of experience in ASIC implementation, CAD flow development and support for IC projects.

Hands on experience in two or more of the following areas :
o configuring & using tools for : Library Development (Timing and Physical), Synthesis, Auto Placement and Routing, DFT Scan implementation, Static Timing Analysis, Logic Equivalence Checking, DRC, LVS, DFM, parasitic extraction.
o Specifically Digital P&R implementation tools, PrimeTime-SI, Conformal, NanoTime, SiliconSmart, Cadence Virtuoso.
** Excellent scripting/programming ability using TCL, PERL, MAKEFILE. Knowledge of shell programming a plus.
** Good familiarity with usage of configuration management systems (any one of: DesignSync, ClearCase, Perforce, ICManage)
** Should have exposure to current sub-micron CMOS process technology ( < 45 nm ) and ASIC design flow and design methodology challenges
** Hands on experience in tape-out of at least two chips.
