An online news portal is looking for Indian part time journalists/news writer.

Write five (250-300 words) stories every day. Rs. 3000/- monthly.

It is an open topic assignment - write current affair news items in various categories. Look at any Indian news sites categories and which category are you most comfortable to write in? past writing experience in news writing, magazines like an editor etc. is a plus.


*** VERY IMPORTANT
Your English must be like a news site editor, else do not apply half heatedly. You may also be required to refine your English quickly as we *strictly* check not only the grammars and punctuations but the style of writing. Structuring contents or expressing a thought is as important.

Please note:

-This is not a rewriting project but original articles on current affairs.
-No scrapping. All the Articles must pass CopyScape and others.
-No shortcut words in communication. The applicants should have a basic professional communication skill.
-The applicants must very comfortable to work with web portals/news publishing system work flow.
-We may ask for a small demo writeup on a specific topic.
-If selected, a non disclosure agreement needs to be signed before starting the work.
- If you have news, magazines writing portfolio that could be a start. For good writers, we may allow publishing authors profile.

This in regards to the job vacany that i came to know about while i was surfing the internet.
I have completed my graduation in B.SC home science with specilization to journalism in my third year , currently at this point of time i am doing my post graduation in Mass communication from Delhi Film Institute which is affliated to PTU ,due to some reason my result is still awaited , but i would not like that to be a hinderance in my career. So i thought of applying for this job as part time aspect. I am sure in this learning stage this would be a great moral boost for me . I would get to learn a lot more things as well. As an individaul i am looking forward for a postive revert back.

This must not be a war of words but impersonate a fellow employer might be considered as unprofessional.

We do not see the replies were rude but an effective style of writing and also helps cutting down a lot of 'I am interested too' replies. We saw applicants won't bother to read the post carefully on the first reply or a followup reply. That may be noticed here too.

Thank you for your valuable time spent finding out our errors whereas they both can be technically correct or a style of writing; some instances we put errors in quotes, we rather like these pointed out by the applicants.

First-of, get rid of the tendency of using Sirs and Madams. Was it an educational score percentage inquired, we rather emphasize on strong writing skills in English and abilities to quickly update on current affair events, effectively summarizing an long story short and impressing readers with a mature writing style.
For us, you've terrible problem with your English, that may work elsewhere but not in a English newspaper (people read newspapers to improve their English).

You've repetitive information on same sentence, loosely structured, and other errors.

1. Summarize your first reply in two-three lines without missing any information.
2. Send a short writeup on any of today's event. Do not copy, it won't anything now or later.

I was surprised to a reply from Journalist jobs to Dewangee , where he/ she is trying to correct the grammatical mistakes of the two youngsters who happened to have shown their interest in the job posted. Infact Journalist Jobs has even gone to the extent of criticising the way in which they have addressed the message to him/her. I may like to point out here, that there were quite a few grammatical errors made by the Journalist Jobs while explaining others how to write english - Here they go :

''and abilities to quickly update on current affair events '' It should be '' ability '' not abilities.

For us, you've terrible problem with your English, -

Problem no 1 - the phrase is terribly rude
Problem no 2 - Mature writing style should say it as ' According to us ' and not ' For us'
