KEY ROLE : Responsible for the quality assurance of Coating and Insulation application activities. Provide Coating and Insulation application expertise to achieve project completion safely (HSE), efficiently (Design and application Execution) and to specified quality requirements (Quality) to agreed budgets and timelines.
Provide input on Coating and Insulation for preparation of project proposals and contracting strategy, cost and budget estimates, schedules, application execution plans and procurement plans, commissioning and start-up plans, and participate in the selection and approval of vendors and construction contractors.
* Communicate Coating and Insulation design and application requirements to contractors in the execution of their duties to ensure effective execution and team work.
* Adherence to HSE and Quality Systems and procedures and perform appropriate quality surveillance by reviews and inspections. Ensure Coating and Insulation design is practical and in accordance with the specified requirements by preparing or reviewing drawings, specifications, job instructions, and material selection notes etc. Support and monitor the supply of Approved for Construction documents in time to support construction schedules.
* Maintain records of Coating and Insulation work of the contractors.
Manage Coating and Insulation application
* Provide Coating and Insulation engineering expertise input for the preparation of construct ability proposals, method statements, risk assessments, job safety analysis and quality inductions to ensure the design intent is achieved without compromising HSE.
* Provide input for planning schedules for Coating and Insulation application activities, including temporary works and lifting activities. Advise on required adjustments to the design and application schedule to suit site conditions and materials deliveries. Monitor and ensure that contractors are
Working to the approved design and application schedules in the required work areas. Coordinate work sequences and interfaces.
* Ensure that Coating and Insulation personnel on site are inducted to HSE requirements and comply with the site regulations. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the permit to work system, including pre-application check of live lines by Inspection Department. Ensure that contractors carry out their methods and work practices. Attend contractor’s toolbox talks.
* Prepare input for the Quality Plan for application of Coating and Insulation work. Adhere to the Engineering Procedures, Quality Control Procedures (QCP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) with relevant QC forms, Method Statements (MS) and risk assessments. Ensure provision of full
quality documentation for Coating and Insulation work. Understand the inspection roles for supervisors and staff.
* Perform Quality Surveillance to establish that vendors and contractors comply with the Quality Plan. Adhere to witness, inspection and surveillance checks to ensure strict adherence to the project drawings, specifications, standards, procedures and permits.
* Review design and engineering deliverables for Coating and Insulation discipline work. Ensure inter-discipline checks are performed, including reviews by commissioning and operations.
Perform inspections on materials upon delivery to site for discrepancies and/or shortages and provide input for technical reports on damages and shortages. Inspect and ensure correct storage procedures are followed.
Ensure changes are controlled and recorded with Change Advice Notices (CAN), Field Instructions (FI), Technical Queries (TQ) and Non Conformance Reports (NCR). Ensure that appropriate approval to changes has been given prior to implementation.
Prepare weekly and monthly input to progress reports for Coating and Insulation design and application work. Regularly report lessons learnt for the Coating and Insulation design and application feedback for the project close out reports.

Check quality control records :the Coating and Insulation work to ensure correct information is compiled in Mechanical Completion packs and are available to support timely MC acceptance and handover to Commissioning and Operations in sequence on a system by system, area by area basis, to meet commissioning and start-up requirements. Review as-built drawings and vendor information for hand over to the Operations.
- Perform detailed field inspections of coating and insulation work and provide accurate punch-lists for Mechanical Completion.
To ensure that all the relevant inspection and supervision activities are executed in accordance with relevant quality plan.
