Worked on the following Projects for Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, MI
· Design, development and release various components of Instrument Panel like IP substrate, center finish panel, Instrument Cluster bezel, Register Bezels, Adapter Ducts, glove box ,Speaker etc meeting all requirements of plastic injection molding for Ford fusion CD 338 and Lincoln MKZ CD 378 where IP is manufactured by skin and foam method (soft IP).

· Conducted feasibility assessment of clay model right from the beginning by establishing hard points for reference.

· Engineered evaluation of all 2D and 3D cad (as per the FC milestones) to develop a final approved surface in a Concurrent engineering approach engaging Ford Design studio, suppliers and tool designers. Develop B-side features after packaging all internal components and modules within the specified tolerance (by bringing ergo zone, foot zone, Knee zone etc.). Conduct stack up study (DVA). Manage CAE work on 3dCAD in the feasibility stage. Drive suppliers to choose right materials as per color harmony and functionality with sufficient benchmarking and research. Also assure all interfaces are designed with proper locating and attachment strategy to have an edge in the competition by achieving tight tolerance for improved appearance.

· Completed all necessary documents required for ok to tool process like DFMEA,DVPR, BOUNDARY DIAGRAM, P DIAGRAM, RCL, EFDVS, AVBOM, PESR, quality history (TGW’S, R/100), SA, ESOW AND ED&T.

· Actively involved in the feasibility assessment and design activities of J61J 2008 Mazda 6. Supported the project from the Mazda Design & Development center in Hiroshima, Japan in the year 2005.

· Did Design and develop Headliners, Interior Hard Trim plastic components ( A pillar, B pillar, Scuff plates and cowls) and IP components (meter cover, steering column, center finish panel, glove box IP substrate) incorporating latest design criteria from Mazda, Japan meeting all SDS and FMVSS requirements. Developed design criteria sections for attachment scheme and sheet metal locations for B-side panel features, conducted vision study in the design feasibility stage for J61J program by CATIA V5 and PRO-E.

· Did Design, develop and release various interior plastic components like Quarter panels, front and rear door trims, lift gates, package trays etc and Headliners for different Ford programs - U377, V229, U204, D258, and D385 as per FORD SDS.

· Prepared and maintain design related documents to support program - DFMEA, design statement of work (SOW’s), design verification plan & report (DVP&R), bill of material (BOM).

· Did Troubleshooting of sink marks, warp, flow lines, Weld lines, short shot and gas traps for different plastic parts.

· Lead feasibility assessment and release of new instrument panel. Package various plastic components using SDRC IDEAS and PRO-Engineer like steering column upper and lower, center finish panel upper and lower, glove box upper and lower, floor console rear panel, and armrest, speakers, subwoofer, amplifiers, antenna, etc., throughout the I/P and Console, Develop B-side panel features with active participation right from design feasibility to release for various FORD programs like D219/D258, U204, U377, and P221 and registers for Toyota Sienna using CATIAV5 and PRO-E.

· Did Design and release components of IP and Console for Nissan ZW truck series as well as QW 2row and 3 row series for year 2007 (includes new proposals developing 2d sections, conducting load study using kinematics.)

- Project Title –Study and suggest improvements in Performance Parameters at 108MW Combined Cycle Power Plant of North Delhi Power Limited(a Tata Power JV) in Delhi.
- Description – The project was undertaken in order to improve the performance of various parameters in the combined cycle gas turbine based power plant like – Efficiency, Heat Rate, Load factor, Output, Exhaust temperature etc.
- My Role –My role was to Study the operational data and information of the power plant and observe its variations fromstandard OEM specifications. This is followed by identifying the factors and reasons leading to the variations from the standards. Finally, giving recommendation for improvement in the performance parameters of the power plant.

- Project Title –Study of Emerging Trends in Fuel Cell Technology
- Description – The increasing demand for fuel source that is cleaner, cheaper and more efficient and can last for a longer horizon is pushing the Academia and Industry towards Fuel Cell technology. Study involved classification of fuel cells and their pros and cons.
- My Role – While the Fuel technology is itself is under emergence, my activities was limited to primary and secondary research and come up with a set of findings that were further classified as boons and risks of the fuel cell technology.

- Project Title –Cellular Manufacturing System
- Description –Cellular Manufacturing System is a production system in which similar parts are classified as part family and dissimilar machines are assigned into machine cell in order to exploit the cost effectiveness of mass production.
- My Role –In a team of four, my role was to study and subsequently analyze the time and effort taken for shop floor activities. Based on my study our team had proposed recommendations to optimize the processes to bring down the overall time (including set up time and wait time) and effort to undertake the process leading to reduction of the production cost (including transportation, operational and other costs) which makes the process more effective.
