Project : Thermal stability of an Electric Generator

Description :
The scope of the project is to carry out the Thermal stability analysis of an Electric generator. The generator was provided with a heat exchanger on the Top side of the Generator and it was required to analyse the performance of this heat exchanger and also to optimize its design for better performance of the generator. The problem involved challenges in terms of meshing (Non-Conformal), time line.

Project : Analysis of Automobile Air filter assembly
Softwares : STAR-CCM+
Description :
The Objective of this project is to predict the total pressure loss, Temperature distribution in an Automobile Air filter assembly. The project involved modeling the motor for driving air using MRF approach, generating prism layers through and through the domain with Hex dominant trim mesh and predicting results at various cross sections of interest.

Project : Blow by gas performance analysis
Software : GAMBIT, FLUENT
Description :
The objective of this project is to analyze the performance of the Blow by gas separator used in Automobile vehicles to separate the oil and fuel air mixture. The challenging part of the job is CAD-clean up in GAMBIT and generating Hex dominant mesh. The efficiency of oil separation is calculated using DPM capabilities of FLUENT

Academic Project :
Project : Computational Study and validation of two phase flow in Bubble column
Softwares : GAMBIT and FLUENT
Description :
The project involved various phases :-
- Development of CFD codes in C-Language for basic understanding of Finite difference, Finite volume methods and Validate codes against bench mark solutions.
- Computational studies of similar cases in commercial Software FLUENT and compare results. The exercise was carried to understand the behaviour of various parameters of FLUENT, also the impact of meshing on the accuracy of fluid flow
- Once single phase flow has been carried successfully for standard cases , Multi phase flow analysis of a bubble column using Eulerian (Mixing Model, per phase model) as well as Lagrangian approaches were carried out using commercial code FLUENT and the results were validated against a standard experimental results
