1. First Class Post Graduate Degree in Agriculture with specialization in Agronomy/ Soil Science or First Class Post Graduate Degree in Horticulture from a recognized University.
2. 5 years research experience in Agriculture/Horticulture as evidenced by published research papers.
Desirable :
1. Research experience in plantation crops, administrative experience including planning and organizing of research activities.
2. Doctorate Degree in Agronomy/Soil Science/Horticulture from a recognized University.

2. Scientist ‘C’ (Plant Pathology)

4. Scientist ‘B’ (Chemistry)

2. 3 years research experience in the field of quality control of Agricultural products as evidenced by published papers.

Number of posts : 1 (One). On contract for a period of 2 years, ie,. upto 31.3.2012.

Qualifications :
M.Sc (Agriculture/Agricultural Chemistry/Agronomy) or M.Sc Biochemistry/Plant Physiology or B.Sc (Ag) with 3 years of research experience in Plant Physiology/Plant Biochemistry.

8. Research Associate (Agronomy/Chemistry)
Number of posts : 1 (One). On contract for a period of 2 years, ie., upto 31.3.2012
Category : General
Qualifications :
M.Sc (Ag) Specialization in Agricultural Chemistry or Agronomy or M.Sc Chemistry with one year experience in analytical work in Chemistry Laboratory or B.Sc (Ag)/B.Sc Chemistry with 3 years experience in analytical work in chemistry laboratory.

9. Research Associate – Entomology
Number of posts : 1 (One). On contract for a period of 2 years, ie., upto 31.3.2012.
Category : General
Qualifications :
M.Sc (Ag)/ Entomology or M.Sc Zoology with specialization in Entomology with minimum of one year research experience in Entomology or Bio-control or B.Sc (Ag)/B.Sc Zoology with 3 years research

Scale of pay :
Sl.No.1 and 2 is PB-3 Rs.15600-39100/- Grade pay Rs.6600/- (Total monthly emoluments works out to approximately Rs.34,000/-).
Sl.No.3 to 6 is PB 3- Rs.15600- 39100/- Grade Pay Rs.5400/- (Total monthly emoluments works out approximately Rs.32000/-)
Sl.No.7 to 9 is Rs.11,000 + HRA per month.

The appointees are likely to be posted anywhere in India.
For posts 1 and 2 above, age prescribed is not more than 40 years,
For posts 3 to 9, the age prescribed is not more than 35 years as on 1st March, 2010.

Eligible candidates may apply with bio-data and attested copies of certificates in respect of educational qualifications, experience, caste, etc. to the Secretary, Spices Board at the address given above so as to reach him latest by 19.4.2010. The prescribed application form is available in the Board’s website www.indianspices.com.

Applicants who submit their applications through E-mail should forward hard copy of the applications with copies of supporting documents along with a recent passport size photograph within the prescribed time limit. Applications without supporting documents and photographs as above and also the late applications will not be entertained.
Applicants employed in Government/ Semi-Government Organizations should route their applications through proper channel. Board reserves the right to shortlist applicants for test/interview depending upon availability of suitable candidates.
